I have been scouring the website for an oven thermometer that will not fall off the rack onto the bottom of the oven. Thermometers I have had before have a nasty habit of getting knocked off the oven rack whether they are sitting on the rack or hanging from it. Retrieving the thermometer from the floor of the oven while the oven is hot and full of cooking food is difficult, frustrating and dangerous. My last one fell off and landed on the oven's heating element where it fried.Since there was only one photo view of the Polder, I could not tell how exactly it clipped to the rack, so I took a chance. I am happy to report that, as I suspected, the way the clip on feature is designed, there is no way that the thermometer can fall off the rack or turn so that it cannot be read. I have not yet tried it to check on its accuracy, but will report back as soon as I do.

This thermometer worked great until I forgot to remove it for the clean cycle (which is totally my fault, instructions say to remove it when cleaning the oven). It turned brassy and the label was bleached out, so I threw it away.Prior to the mishap it worked as promised. All I really needed to know was how long it takes my oven to preheat (a lot longer than the oven thinks it needs). Now that I know this I don't need the thermometer anymore.Two minor gripes: 1) if you hang it in the front of the oven, it gets in the way of larger pans and baking sheets, and 2) if you hang it in the back of the oven its hard to read.

I agree with the customer review that says this one stays put. In my 72 years I have gone through lots of oven thermometers and this is the only one I ever found that does not fall off the oven rack. I love it! As far as accuracy, I put three different brands in my oven, my old one and two new, this and another brand, and all three showed the same temperature (my oven is five degree off) but I hate the other two because they are easily knocked off the rack.

The design of this oven thermometer is brilliant. It will sit on a rack, or hang securely over a rack. Unfortunately, the numbers are small and therefore difficult to read. It is not returnable, so I gave it to a friend and purchased a different model with larger numbers.

I love this Oven Thermometer. I'd had it with the kind that hang from the top shelf. They were always in the way. If I stood them on the shelf instead of hanging they fell over. Then I found this beauty. Sits right where I put it. I can move it easily if need be. I could hang it if I wanted to also. Works great and doesn't get as dirty as the other kind for some reason. I highly recommend this product.

Completely unable to use this oven thermometer as the numbers for the oven temps are so exceedingly small that they are impossible to see. If your age is anything over 55 years, do not waste your time and money, and do not purchase this oven thermometer.

Only used once so far. Oven thermometers seem to have a short life. Had one that lasted for years and another for a few uses. Will update if this one is faulty. Other reviews of this product will be more helpful.
