What Is an Oven Thermometer?
An oven thermometer is a small, stainless steel oven-safe thermometer with a clock face dial that allows you to take the most accurate temperature of the oven. An oven thermometer allows you to measure the exact internal temperature of your oven—or as close as you can get—to ensure even more exact cook times and results.
The oven thermometer can be put in before you turn on your oven, as long as you feel secure it is in a safe place not touching the sides/flames, this will obviously effect the temperature. You will then be able to get the optimum temperature you want before putting your dish in.
Our oven thermometers are designed to easily stand or clip onto oven racks. The most important thing is oven thermometer that’s easy to read through the oven door. This is what you want - a basic, non-electronic thermometer. Ovens turn off and on to maintain their temperature and the electronic thermometers are too sensitive, in my opinion. You want to read sort of what the average is and that is what this does. My daughter-in-law was admiring them, so I gave her one of mine - the two pack was handy for that.

Work well altho are a bit slow to register temp. Both read exactly the same temp and show 5 degrees higher than my oven says, whether that is because of my oven or the thermometers, I don't know. But I am happy with the thermometers.

I like the large Font, much larger than my pervious thermometer. Seems to be accurate. I wish it had a better design to attach to the oven shelves--I have it just setting on the wire rack and sometimes I inadvertently knock it over. But I keep it to one side, and those occurrences have been reduced. I am happy with the purchase--bought two, one for each of my ovens.

Unfortunately I don't have a calibrated digital thermometer to measure their accuracy, but I put both of them together in my over side by side and they measure the same temperature. So they may not be 100% accurate but they are consistent which I think is a good thing. The faces are large and easy to read. Would recommend.

They do slip off of the rack and get stuck when you slide the rack out to check on food. But that's part of the deal when you get these. They have been great help with my temperamental oven.

I Bought 2 of these, one for each oven. I always thought my primary oven temp was very inaccurate, 10-15 degrees too low, so I turned the oven up. Thermometer especially inaccurate at higher temps. Had to be the oven, right? Nope. Tried the thermometer from our second oven and oven was dead on accurate. 2 from the same company bought at the same time but 2 very different temps.. Don't trust just one but if you bought 2 compare them. Inexcusable. If you just bought 1 you could ruin food.
