I bought this mainly to build toys for birds. Birds cannot use Zinc/Galvanized metals which are toxic to them. Since this is Stainless Steel 316L, which is higher grade than 304, I decided to buy these. I wish that the seller had these 316L version in 14 AWG (gauge) version with 100 feet. However, this is still good enough. 14 gauge is very thick and much harder to bend and twist.Second, I prefer these over the Home Depot stainless steel wire because this wire is solid. I had to return the Home Depot version because it was stranded which is much harder to twist and eventually it will break off into little pieces and that's not safe for birds.

I ordered this wire to make a mandala bracelet. I don't really do wire projects, and know nothing about wire in general, but I had one if these when I was younger and came upon them again. I thought it would be cheaper to make my own and 18ga stainless steel was recommended. This wire seemed like a good price so I ordered it.I got my order and it was wrapped in plastic wrap and sealed in a plastic bag. It looked like a roll of wire, so I put it aside until I had some time to do my project. On Thanksgiving morning, I decided to open it, as I was going to try making this bracelet. When I opened it I was very disappointed as it looked nothing like the shiny stainless I had seen in the craft stores. I contacted the seller and sent pictures, not expecting a reply on Thanksgiving, but to my surprise I did get a reply... I want to say the customer service was excellent!That being said, the seller told me it looked like aluminum wire and it wasn't his product. I was confused as it was the only wire I ever ordered and received, and he did confirm I ordered from him and shipping came directly from him. He did kindly refund my money, but insisted that this was aluminum wire which he doesn't sell.I give 5 stars for service, but 1 star for product, as I don't know if it is really stainless or not? Like I said, the seller insists it looks like it is aluminum, but he only sells stainless, but I know this came from him, so maybe it is bad stainless? I offered to return it to him, but he just refunded me.Just an FYI to check your item immediately and if anyone can help me figure out this mystery wire I would love to know what you think! It is dull, not magnetic, and very spotty- it is thick, not even sure if it is 18ga as I have never bought wire, only looked at it in craft stores.
