I had replaced my original rack because the metal was dissolving in the pot. The replacement I got didn’t hang from the sides when I was loading and unloading, and with hot water was getting burned so I went searching for another before settling on this one. Just canned some jam, and the rack was awesome! It hung from the side, the metal cleaned up great, and it met if not exceeded expectations. Highly recommend this canning rack!

Replacing a very old very rusty basket. This one holds the smaller bottles. Also the bends in the handles work well.

Don't understand what some customers are complaining about. Rack is an exact replica as what I wanted to replace which was the rack that came with my large Ball blue/white speckled/enameled canning pot that I've had for years. No more rusty rack, now! Yay!

To the people that want support loops to keep the jars from falling over...why? I love that this thing is flat, as it holds a ton of jars, especially if you're doing smaller 1/2 pint or the skinny 3/4 pint jars. Support loops is a deal breaker if you want to do a large quantity of jars, or a mix of jar sizes. There are a few very minor cons about this that I've learned to deal with. The side handles do fall in sometimes (rarely - only on a very small load of jars), but I use two pairs of tongs to pull the rack out of the water before unloading jars anyway, so no big deal, not the end of the world. And yes, the jars can be unsteady if you're doing a small load of jars, but again, no big deal. I've learned to live with it, and there is enough wire on the bottom to keep them steady if you place them carefully. However...I am going to purchase a flat bottom rack for this (Laxhand 11" pressure cooker rack), which should solve that issue!Overall really happy. And going on 6 years now with no rust!

Bought this to replace my 20 year old canning rack from Jarden/Ball Corp because the welds were not stainless steel and rust is becoming annoying and the welds will fail within the next few years. The dimensions on the website state that the top diameter is 12.25 inches, which made me think that there would be more room for Quart Jars than on my existing rack, but now that I look more closely at the diagram on the website, the measurement is correct if you want a measurement including the handles. I wanted a measurement that would give me some idea of how much space there would be between quart jars, i.e., an inside measurement, but nobody provides those measurements, so looks like I have to buy a replacement rack directly from Jarden/Ball at three times the cost. By the way, as is typical of most products today, the metal is thinner and flimsier than on my previous rack.

It's a good quality item. Not much to say. It does what it is supposed to do without any fuss of bother, Well made, won't fall apart. Great really.

My canning rack is almost as old as I am and my husband has tried everything to minimize the rusting on it. We finally admitted that a new stainless steel one was a reasonable investment. Great and easy to use. Don’t miss the old “rust bucket†at all.
