I bought this so that I can remove impurities when making dashi. It does the job really well. Gets all the way to the side of the pot with no issues. It has really tight mesh so it leaves nothing behind.

The handle is only 9 inches long. It is very light weight. The screen is very fine and attached well and would be easy to clean, Flimsy is a word that comes to mind. But if you are very careful it would probably last a long time.
