It's sturdy spring wire.I ran measurements with my caliper about 7 times at random spots in the 10m I got, all exactly 1.2mm

This is not hard spring steel. The wire is way too soft.

I got a coil of this wire for building an armature for a clay sculpting project I am working on. This did the trick. It thin enough to be flexible yet strong enough to hold its own when covered in clay. I got the 1.2mm size. My sculpt is not huge as a large sculpt would require a bit thicker wire. But for 12" high project this fits the bill.
