I'd been doing some side work and due to my rather poor choice of tools it was taking many times longer than it should or could have. Since this wasn't something I did very often I'd been weighing over the value of investing in better tools, but it just wasn't a top priority. Lo and behold, this stainless steel wort chiller appears in my face and I thought, I could use that to make my own device. Which requires quite a few more parts, but this piece gave me the push I needed to move in that direction. It's funny, almost like that algorithm gets right in your head sometimes. You only have to think about something, never so much as mention it out loud and poof, it appears right before your very eyes.
