Have been using this thing in my woodshop to detail some of my final projects, I've used it on some very hard woods and it's still hanging on great. it can move some major wood quickly, the tool don't jam up it has enough room and is strong enough it has not bent on me while I have been putting some fair pressure on it.

The title says it all, I bought this surform for a number of mitre butt joints in some MDF skirting boards, it worked flawlessly and cut through the MDF like a hot knife through butter helping me get perfect joints, it’s actually helped to make the job a pleasure to carry out, I haven’t used it on any other kinds of wood but I see no issues whatsoever, I still have a couple more joints to complete this week, I’m looking forward to doing these now I have this tool, I would say that the only little gripe I have was with the packaging really, it was excessive, I know these tools are a little brittle but a smaller box would have been sufficient with some padding, gripe over, this review is all about the tool and I don’t have any complaints whatsoever about it, it’s brilliant 😉

A very usefull tool. It's surprising how often it comes in handy when other tools are inapropriate.

On building up my tool collection after years of struggling and making do with anything that would do the job I decided to spend a bit of money and purchase a few items that I did not have.I have the Stanley Surform which I have had for around thirty years and is still as good as new with the exception of recently buying two new blades. I also have the smaller Stanley Surform Shaver tool again which I have had for many years and only recently bought a new blade so seeing this item I decided to purchase one although not needing it at that moment thinking it may come in handy one day....And a week or two later it proved to be a worthwhile investment. Having to cut a neat hole in the edge of a piece of contiplas I first cut a V shape with a coping saw then used this round file and made an excellent job...worth every penny and not doubt this will last years.
