This thing is just what I need for camping trips. Since it can use finely ground coffee OR Nespresso Original espresso pods, it provides versitility that one may want during a light pack camp out--so if by chance you can score ten packs of Nespresso capsules on the cheap, you're having a gourmet experience. At first, the setup seemed just a little tricky, but that was all cancelled out after 2 tries with it. It does not take a lot of work to pump the water from the spring-loaded plunger--it takes more effort to saw sticks for starting a fire. And the results come out great each time I have used it. Since it's stainless steel and silicone, it just needs a rinse in warm water and a wipe down with a towel, and it's ready to store.I've tried making a shot of espresso with both hot and cold water; both ways, it came out great. It makes quality espresso much like an aero press, while also being easier to set up and offering the option for compact clean espresso pods. Again: if you're doing some solo camping, this device is what you're looking for.

Than the classic, but It's perfect for vacations. I just need to pay for milk wherever I end up or bring it in a separate bottle, along with sugar if camping. BEWARE: If you have the classic or have purchased the upgrade to the new bottom filter and nespresso pod attachment, TSA may make you check it instead of putting it in your carryon due to the sharp edges. Just beware, depends on the airport and the TSA agent. And this took me 30 minutes of discussion (AFTER I willingly checked the entire kit not just the nespresso pod adapter).

The concept is wonderful, but the actual product leaks water because there's no gasket between the screw on water reservoir and the coffee maker element. When you prep water in the reservoir for your travels, be ready for the entire amount of water to leak all over your bag. Then when you want coffee, try to find hot water to fill up the tank again. Haha. It's a brilliant idea, and decent coffee maker but the actual basics of keeping the water in the device until you want to make a coffee consistently fails... every... single... time. Therefore the product fails. I give it Zero stars and I really wanted to like it. Wish I could return the piece of crap. It was expensive. BTW I've also asked the manufacturer to help and they asked me to send a video to prove it was broken. although annoyed, I'm not shocked. I'm guessing they've got lots of these crappy units in a bin in the office wondering what to do with them next.

This press is a dream come true for a coffee geek!No electricity required!I don’t care for the flavor of stale coffee poured from a thermos. & when I need that little perk on the run (at work with no access to a fresh brew), I always bring a thermos of boiling hot water & some fine espresso ground beans, & voilà , a delicious shot with a perfect amount of flavorful créma on top!-cleanup does require the use of some water, to remove the used grinds from the brewing puck. (I like to poke a hole in the cap of a water bottle & use it to spray a jet into the puck after tapping it out, which works well)-the included coffee scoop, which also doubles as the tamper for the puck works ok, but I went to a hardware store & found a giant steel hex head bolt, which I use to get the ultimate compaction of the grounds. (I might get a steel washer with a better fit & weld it to the head of the bolt so I don’t have to keep rotating due to the mismatched shape of the hex head).Excellent for truck drivers, farmers out on the combine or tractor, bus or train drivers, or anyone with no access to a coffee shop.I almost forgot: The plunger will occasionally become stubborn or get stuck.- The solution was to apply a dab of any sort of vegetable oil to the piston rod when extended & operate the plunger several times to lubricate.

Compact design, lightweight, and working without electricity make it a great gadget to carry on trips. also ike that it can be used with capsule and coffee powder. Taste wise, did not find much difference between the rich taste made by this gadget and the one made by bigger machines sitting home.

The mini version 1 had numerous issues that I was not happy with. Staresso reached out and advised that the Mini 2 has addressed many of my concerns. I gave it a try and I am happy to report that it does work much better than the original version that I had.Great for camping or possibly long drives where you don't have access to an automatic machine
