My 5mm x 25ft rope has a Nylon sheath around a Nylon core. The sheath is a little loose which gives the rope a soft flexible feel. I've tied a dozen different knots which tightened and held nicely. The packaging says it will hold up to 1146 pounds and adheres to Europe's EN 564 standard for accessory cords.

Sterling is well known for their quality climbing gear--rope and cord particularly. This is the perfect size for prusik or klemheist brake-size backup for one or two rope rappel with modern climbing ropes.

Very nice high-quality accessory cord. Use this particular size to make Prussia knots for a safety line. It works very well. Knots are easy to tie and untie.
