About this item

  • Hardy Perennial Herb Seeds - Stinging Nettle, sometimes called burning nettle, is a perennial herb with a remarkable capacity to thrive in various conditions outdoors. This plant will grow from our heirloom stinging nettle seeds to between 3-7 feet and is easy to recognize by its heart-shaped leaf with tiny hairs that cause a stinging sensation with touch.
  • Traditional Culinary and Herbal Uses - Stinging Nettle leaves have been used as in traditional herbal remedies for centuries. The stinging hairs can be neutralized by drying or cooking. The dried herb can be used as a beneficial tea, and the leaves are good cooked and used as a nutritious, spinach-like green leafy vegetable.
  • Sustainable Living - Stinging Nettle is a beneficial herb with a wide array of uses, including improving soil fertility, attracting beneficial insects, and acting as a barrier. It can be eaten and used as a medicinal herb, and it also is a fiber crop that can be used to make rope, paper, and cloth. Stinging nettle is also a host plant to various butterfly species, making it an important plant for conservation efforts.
  • The Info You Need to Grow - The stinging nettle seeds for planting are packed in a beautiful paper packet with instructions for successful growing and germination in your home garden. Each heirloom medicinal herb seeds package also has instructions which are simple for beginners and experts alike for getting started.

we need stratification, gentle care for small sprouts and plants! 😁in Russia, nettle grows like a weed, unpretentious and tenacious. Of course there is enough moisture and good soil. here in Colorado I dance around my tiny delicate plants like a shaman with a tambourine 😄so that they continue to grow to my delight.

Thumbs up for these seeds! I only planted a few and most germinated. Can't wait to be able to harvest my own stinging nettles next year!

I purchased this product to plant it in my garden. I originally ordered it may3rd. I got it delivered and I planted it in enriched soil. I waited a couple weeks with no result. It is now almost mid July and nothing has grown. I had expectations but these seeds do NOT work. I want to request a refund..

Good quality. So far it grew into little baby nettles. Waiting until they become stronger.

Updating my review. As of today 17 seeds have sprouted. It has taken almost twice the amount of time stated for germination, so dont give up. Fingers crossed these will continue to grow in our zone 10. You must be extra patient waiting for germination.

Good germination rate even without the cold stratification. Would recommend for those looking to grow nettles. Would buy seeds from them again.

They sprouted and are thriving in less than a week. I’m very pleased.
