My daughter really liked this reed but we ordered 2 and when she went to use the 2nd one it was already split and not useable

Great reed; my beginning oboist was able to play right away. Probably user error, but it broke during her first lesson. Tried another brand as it was a larger pack for less, but she cannot get it to play. :(

It arrived cracked. My daughter couldn't even use it. Total waste of money. Never ordering this reed again.

I've actually had good luck with these reeds. I've ordered 6 total so far (usually get 2 at a time because oboe reeds are hit and miss no matter where you get them). Out of the 6, 5 have been playable and 2 have been outstanding right out of the box playing easily and in tune. The other 3 took a little breaking in. Pretty good odds actually. I like that these reeds play easily which make them good for beginners and for intermediates who only play occasionally (so lip and cheek strength can be an issue). The downside is, that they wear out fast. But at this price, I like to keep a couple around in case my more expensive reeds crap out and I need something to play on while breaking in a better reed.

It has a good response, but the tone and tuning is rather bad. Don't buy this if you are a intermediate or above. For a beginner oboist, it is a suitable reed, though I would say that you might try for a better one. I would like to mention that these reeds are not all made the exact same, so your results may vary. As far as I can tell these are machine made.

terrible packaging . ordered two reeds one is in okay condition the other one is completely destroyed

It was split down the side an unusable when we received it.
