Make sure you read the description so you get what you're expecting. This will not help you find a date, but will help you locate metal in your walls. Such a simple invention, and there are a million of these online now, but I'd definitely recommend this one. Delivery was quick. Product itself feels sturdy and that it will last. The magnet is indeed strong so if you grasp the plastic lightly and then move the magnet along the wall when you find a nail/screw the magnet holds against the wall and essentially pulls right out of your hand. Very straight forward and much more effective than the electric stud finders I'd tried using with marginal success in the past. I simply attached this to my tool belt with a small plastic carabiner so it will always be there should I need it. I have noticed the magnet does stick to tools and other things, so it can move around and be hard to find if you leave it in a tool bag.Overall - highly recommended and great value for money! Enjoy!

Any professional or DIYer knows how difficult it can be to find studs in lath and plaster walls.Stud finders simply do not work.This little tool has a strong enough magnet, all you have to do is gently "scan" the walls, and it will detect the ferrous nails attaching the lathe to the studs.You do have to go very slow, and it helps if you measure out about 16" from a door frame or corner as a starting point.But once you see the magnet "grab" a spot, all you have to do is go up or down from that spot to confirm that there is a stud.I've spent a bunch of money on other "deep Scan" tools and other "magnetic stud finders" Amazon reviews won't let me add links or mention brand names.However, I can tell you this simple little tool really does work if you use it right.Cheers!

I hadn't been aware of the changes in stud finders over the recent years. This thing definitely found the iron nails, easily and without a doubt.. My more modern friend said I just should have bought a real "Stud Finder" which finds the studs, not nails. Yea,.but that would have cost me 5X or more this simple magnet thing, and I didn't need anything better for ever once on my later life, now, needing to find a stud, any stud. Buy one of these. When you find your desired stud, play with the enormous magnetic ability of the thing. It's fun. No guessing if you actually found a stud. I promise you.

This magnet is weak. It barely found screws in the sheet rock wall. Not a powerful magnet. Returned item

I got a two pack. They sort of work well enough. you have to be gentle and slow and help it do its job. I never tried the ceiling, but I doubt it is worth the effort. the rack a tiers jerks itself out of your fingers and sticks to the nail. Fishing accessory magnets are at least this strong. otherwise find your own magnet and put some masking tape on it.

This item works and finds screws easily on walls to locate studs strong enough to hold itself to wall while stuck with magnetic’s strength. Would recommend to anyone interested in this item. I would buy again but this one seems it will last a long time. Happy customer : )

Ne pas prendre ce produit si vous souhaitez détecté des montants derrière du BA13 comme il est pourtant stipulé dans la description… ne fonctionne pas du tout à pars pour aimanter des vis de 6…….

easily located the nails which pin the plasterboard to the stud and therefore find the stud. ( beats the £100 bosch electronic device have for location wood stud work although the bosch is useful for locating electrics and plumbing
