I bought a very similar product from survival frog before I bought this one. Both products are visually identical other than that the survival frog solar bank is slightly thicker and clearly have the same manufacturer. The survival frog bank still works despite me using it more and having it for longer, while this one no longer functions. It stopped functioning a while ago as well, so the length of time in which it worked was extremely small. At full capacity it charges my phone for about 5 minutes now whereas it used to charge my phone completely and then some. It worked for maybe a month or two which is abysmal for a power bank.

I just received the solar charger. I noticed this has only 4 solar panels not 5 like it stated in the description and video that is posted with it. I'm going to give it a try but disappointed that it not what is described.

This charger is nicely compact, and folds out/in quickly and easily. Charging the built-in battery depends on strength, angle and quality of solar exposure, but the panels seem to be pretty efficient. It is odd that all the photos of this product show 5 solar panels, but there are clearly only 4 panels. When folded up, the panels are held closed by snaps. The unit turns itself off when it is folded closed. This unit has (2) 5 volt, 2 amp USB-A ports, and 1 micro USB port for charging devices. It would be better if it had a USB-C port instead of a micro USB port, but with an adapter cord, it should suit most needs well. There are small LEDs to show the unit status (4 blue LEDs show battery charge status in 25% increments), and one green LED to show if the battery is being charged via the solar panels. Comes with 2 carabiners to clip to a backpack while hiking, or any other place needed in order to get good solar exposure. There is also a built-in flashlight. We mostly got this in case of emergency situations. We have wind and snow that will occasionally knock out power. It’s nice to have peace of mind that we can retain communication in emergency situations, but the outdoor use implications are obvious.

I have found that the unit does not last over 2hrs to charge a device. It takes forever to charge.Maybe mine has a defect. Would like seller to contact me.

I got this solar powered charger for two specific purposes. First, to use outdoors when power is not available, and secondly, during hurricane season because often lose power and need alternative charging. This solves both issues. It’s about the same size as my cellphone, but three times as thick. Charging is easy - unroll to expose the panels. It has a small but reasonably powerful lamp on the back, two USB-A ports, and a USB-micro port to plug devices into, and two carabiner clips for attaching it to a pack or to hang. The cover is very durable. This is a high quality product, and the specs say it is shockproof and water resistant, which is important for hikes and exposure to moisture, including weather or water bottles that get condensation on backpacks. It doesn’t just rely on solar charging; it comes with a charging cable to plug into a car or wall outlet. It’s super handy to have multiple charging options! Regarding battery capacity, it’s 6,000 mAh. It charged one and a half cellphones, but after six hours it did not fully charge one of my iPads (from 7 to 89%). Still, this is an excellent charger and I highly recommend it.
