When ever I have an icemaker fail I have found that in he long run, instead of replacing the failed part, it is cheaper to replace the whole unit. It took me about 10 or 15 minutes to install and it was making ice within a couple of hours. About 24 hours later my ice tray was full. It actually seems to work better than the one that came with the refrigerator.

It arrived quickly and was an exact replacement for the original ice maker. After watching a YouTube video on how to replace, it was surprisingly easy - removing the old ice maker and installing the new one only took 10-15 minutes. This replacement actually makes ice better than the original.

When our ice maker had issues and then stopped making ice all together, I did some research and found this ice maker for our Samsung RF28T5021SG/AA refrigerator. The installation went quick after finding a great installation video and completed in 10 mins. After about 2 hours, we had our first batch of ice and then after about 36 hours, ice making was back to normal. Great ice maker!!

I was especially appreciative for photos of this before I purchased it. By looking at the defective ice maker and comparing it the photos of the replacement ice maker with the provided measurements , it was a snap. Really thankful for the attention to detail by the seller.

I tried 2 of these units and neither one worked. They both made ice but neither one would dispense the ice. I reinstall the units several times, turn off the ice maker button. unplugged the refrigerator and lower the freezer temperature. The only way I could get the ice maker to dispense the ice was to hit the recycle button which I did several times. I return both units for a refund. Not happy.

I'm very pleasantly suprised to report that this generic assembly worked as advertised. It fills, makes consistent ice cubes, separates them from the blades and drops them into the bucket. Basic tasks that the Samsung supplied unit too often failed to do!
