The belt provides superior performance in sports where hand movement disturbs wrist heart rate measurements and allows measuring heartrate wearing the watch on top of the sleeve or attached to the bike handlebar or even not carrying the watch at all during the exercise. The Suunto Smart Heart Rate belt has an R-R memory that is used when the watch is not within reach of the Bluetooth smart radio. I bought this after I got my suunto ocean. So far it has been great. I can do all of my workouts (Hiit, weightlifting etc.) and cycling. The only issues I have are 1) it doesn't seem to work while swimming laps in a pool. 2) sometimes I have to re-sync it to my phone amd watch for it to work. This was only once or twice in the past 4 months.

I have a Suunto 9 and I love the watch. The heart rate band not so much. First, It appears that you have to have your phone with you for the thing to register your heart rate. If this is not the case, then the strap functions even worse than I thought. I could not get a response from Suunto when I sent them an inquiry on this issue. Second, the data is completely inconsistent. I tested it while walking when I had my phone. It registered my heart as anywhere from 95 bpm to 145 bpm. There's no way my heart rate gets to 145 bpm while walking. I sent it back.

Fonctionne parfaitement avec ma montre Suunto. Relevés de fréquence cardiaque beaucoup plus précis qu’avec la montre. Permet de faire des séances sans porter la montre, notamment Haltero et gym.
