This works wonders on my long haired kitties! They enjoy being combed with it. It is sharp though so don’t touch the blades with your fingers to check. I did that for you and they cut my finger!

Our puppies really like this comb! It only took them a few minutes to get used to it. Now, they just enjoy the feeling while they are being groomed. It's just like being petted.This metal dog comb is well made and solid. And what's great - No sharp points! The tines on one side are closer together than on the other. You can start combing with the wider side to get out larger knots then switch to the finer side for extra combing. It's so easy to flip the comb from one side to the other. This will be used a lot.

This may grab a little bit more fur than a plain rake, but not much. However, it did cost less.At first I questioned the thumb rest, thinking no one should be pulling hard enough to need it. But it does help keep a grip on the smooth round wood handle.One thing I don't like: it has to face the right direction. I prefer a rake whose head runs perpendicular to the handle, so I can reach over and get the other side.
