I got this djembe for christmas and it took time to break the head in. Once I finally broke the head in it had a lot of bass. When I looked in the djembe the wood was not sanded at all. The wood gave me almost 7 splinters on my hand. Also the head is not 10.3 inches wide its 9.5 inches wide. I do love the details on the djembe and it sounds very good. I also do love the fact that the djembe was already tuned.
