I used the product as a confirmation to the quick test strips I use on my spa. It works well.

this is the most cost effective kit for pools and hot tubs. It has just what you need and not all the extra stuff which adds to the cost.

I bought this to complement my Taylor K-2006 test kit in order to do lower cost and faster daily chlorine and pH testing. I prefer to do OTO style chlorine tests (yellow color matching) every day during the summer months with weekly DPD-FAS tests (powder mix and drop count) from the more comprehensive K-2006 kit. I've never been happy with other OTO test kits because I struggle to match the very subtle yellow color shades. Not so with the Taylor K-1000. The Taylor design for the color-matching vials is the gold standard in my book, and I have a much easier time discerning the yellow colors when using this kit. Also, the chlorine scale goes up to 5 ppm which I really like too. What this basic kit lacks is an acid demand reagent, and I'm fine with that. You'll either need to use a pool calculator to figure the amount of acid you need to add based on the pH you measure with this kit, or use a more advanced kit like the 2006. Don't bother trying to use acid demand drops with the vial in this kit, because the volume of the vial is way too small.

I buy this kit every year as it is usually cheaper to buy the whole kit rather than replacement bottles. These work great if used properly.
