I have been fighting lower back problems for last 5 years. I had to go to chiropractor every 2 to 3 weeks. At age 73 I do have some degenerative discs. I am a very active senior. I go elk hunting in the mountains annually so I have to stay in decent shape. I heard about this Dex II, read a bunch of reviews and ordered it. It’s heavy duty and has helped strengthened my lower back. I hang for 1+ minute then do 15 reverse sit ups, come up and rest 15 to 30 seconds then repeat. Sometimes I do it before bedtime. I haven’t been to chiropractor in 3 months annual back feels great. I have recommended this to a couple of friends that got one. They happy too.

Within seconds of my first time on this wonder machine and one of my vertebrae just popped back into place. I'm pretty sure it may have fixed my sciatic running along my right leg. This machine is very sturdy, well thought out, and a small footprint. It is a little effort to get into place but nothing anyone that can walk can't do. I understand some may not be comfortable getting in and having the same ease, maybe someone very over-weight but the leg pads is adjustable. I'm 190 pounds with a really bad spine from the top of my neck to my lower back. I've used some machines at the VA and have never gotten the relief that I have from this machine. Normally I would give some time before giving a review but I was really impressed and hoping to give others some good advice. Buy this machine if you still have some functional strength and can take being upside down beginning with a few seconds and building up to minutes. I've been using a big blow-up ball to roll on for relief but this machine by far is the best method. I hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Pros:• Easy assembly• Strong / well thought out construction, good/comfortable materials• Easier to use than anklestrap full inversion tables so you'll use it more often• Handlebars in good places to get targeted relief and also dismount easier• May help where other inversion tables have not• Firm floor-grips• Core exercises possible with caution• 6'1" 190lb guy approved floor/head clearance with proper height settings• Doesn't have that "cheap equipment" visual aura thay plauges some devices like thisCons:• Will take up more dedicated space, big n heavy and not so mobile.• May be more difficult for shortstacks to mount/dismount as you need to lift your leg over a bar to engage.• Seat-Wobble-stabilization system specifically could use a little work in making the user feel more confident that things are set up correctlyThis is still very much a 5 star machine. The inversion is much nicer with the gravity applied this way than traditional inversion machines, allowing you to stay inverted longer. If you're on the fence go for it.

I am 6’2 female and I’ll be kind and say that I am ‘Statuesque’ in my figure...Lol. Ok, fine! I have a bit of a pooch belly, but I am working on it. Once I figured out how to adjust it to my height, per the instructions, it was easier to get into an inverted position, but trying to get back up to a standing position is a bit painful on the belly. It PINCHES. HARD. The thigh cushions are comfortable enough but your own body weight presses hard at that juncture when you are moving to stand back up. If you are a bit on the hefty side, like me, this HURTS. So I removed one star for that. However, the rest of the Dex II’s functions work like a charm, working exactly as I expected. Not gonna lie, if you are not in shape, using this thing for back bends is going to be difficult (mostly impossible) for you and it isn’t much of a trainer in that regard. You have to be in good physical shape. But I actually didn’t buy this for that. I have a separate bench that I use for those. I bought this mainly for the inversion benefit. I cannot use a inversion table due to an ankle and knee injury so bought this as an alternative. This thing is very sturdily built. I have no concern that I am going to fall off the thing while using it. I was also relieved that, unlike some other exercise equipment that I’ve bought in the past, this really CAN accommodate a tall giant like myself instead of saying it can but having the end result be...not really. It’s great for stretching my back, and I think that the lower handle bars are going to be very useful for push ups, dips, but especially for leg raise, arches, reverse crunches, flutter kicks, etc. I like having something to hold onto vs leaving my arms by my side for those. So I suppose it all comes down to what you want to buy this for. Do I regret buying it, no. But that pain in the belly is going to give me a hard time I think. A flaw in the design. I may try a moving this closer to a wall so when I try moving back to a stand, I can walk my hands up the wall or something to help relieve the pressure? Just a thought.
