Like the title says, this is the perfect fan for the price. You want something quieter, or more efficient? Expect to pay around $100. I've bought many duct fans for many different projects, and for a budget fan, this thing is great.Pros:+ High quality bearings (Fine at any angle)+ Good build quality, with a powerful fan (Not a single thin blade like you'd get with the cheaper fans)+ Very quiet for the price (Around 2-3x quieter then the cheap metal fans)+ Perfect airflow, with some torque (Much more efficient then the metal fans, even though it claims to have lower)+ Lowest power usage out of all the other fans+ No weird/annoying noises. All you hear is moving airCons:- Does not come with an adjustable gauge. You are either full power, or no power. That part costs an additional $10. For me, I don't find that I need to adjust it since it's perfect at the level it's at- Probably wont get the best torque behind a quality filter. Still, at this price, it's far better then what you'd usually get

Is its sound smoother than a less-expensive steel-bladed (or plastic-bladed) inline duct fan? Yes.Is it more efficient (flow per watt)? Yes.Is it any quieter? No, it's quite loud. Unless, ...I started with it in my attic for a shower vent fan, at the end of a duct about 10 feet from the shower (located away from the shower for reduced noise). Its sound was smooth like a jet engine, but it was louder than the cheaper steel-bladed fan it replaced. I tried a speed reducer from the same company, but it reduced the fan speed by only a few percent, and added an intolerable humming sound of its own. Disappointed with both.THEN I bought a 25-foot length of flexible duct, the type that comes compressed (about a foot in length) that expands as you pull it. I added it to the 10-foot duct, stretching it to the length there was room for, about 10 more feet with a 180-degree bend in the middle and a 120-degree bend just before the fan. With that arrangement, the fan is an excellent combination of quiet and effective. Yes, that combination cost some money and hassle, but it's a joy to have the shower fan be so quiet and effective, with the sound it makes very smooth and unobjectionable.

This fan is very quiet, almost as quiet as a quality bathroom exhaust. Am using it to exhaust hot air from a 600 watt HPS light with vented hood. It seems to do the job, keeping my grow room (located in a 65-73 degree garage) below 80 degrees. The grow room has passive air intake. I like that it only uses 26 watts! I would buy again for the same (or other) purpose. I suspect it might not keep up with the heat of a 1000 watt HPS, though. Quality product at a fair price. If I ever needed more air flow I would install a second one of these instead of a bigger but noisy and energy-wasting China-made exhaust fan.

Used the fan to increase air flow to remote bedroom. Instillation was fairly easy. By removing a short piece of duct and replacing it with 2 pieces of flex duct to help reduce noise transfer the fan was secured with 4 large hose clamps. The lite weight and removal of the mounting bracket allowed the fan to be adequately supported without mounting. For power the fan was connected to wireless remote module with the controller in the bedroom. In sumation the fan is lite and quiet but even though it was installed within 4 feet plus 2 elbows of the register airflow was not lncreased significantly.

I tried a few kinds of duct fans for my jewelry soldering station.I liked this TerraBloom 6" the best. I tried the smaller 4" version first, but the air flow pull wasn't strong enough. This one really works nicely.I'm sound sensitive, and while this fan isn't silent, its quieter than some other fans I tried. It doesn't have an on/off switch, but my easy solution was to buy a GE footswitch extension cord and plug the Terrabloom into it.

I'm writing this review because when your pet is salivating, you give them a treat. (begging for a good review) This "duct" fan delivers much more air flow than I thought that it would. Advertised as being as silent as a jet engine. What!? Not as silent as a sleeping puppy, but is quieter than the homedepot fans. The fan should. of course, have an on/off switch, but overall, made in Germany instead of China seems very good quality. A periphrial that terrabloom should offer is an inlet disfuser to adjust the CFM. Included is an inlet air flow ring that could probably be modified to adjust the CFM. If you want less air flow you could just block the inlet with a section of duct tape. Haven't gotten the rheostat yet. Can't give a review how well this device adjusts RPM. Quality is very good, time will tell if it is durable.

To begin, I only knocked a star off because it is, in fact, not silent by itself. That being said, it is very quiet and I can't hear it over my other fans, so I see where that would count as "silent", I suppose. It seems sturdy in structure and works well as an in-line booster for an existing vent system. 6" galvanized ducts fit perfectly on it, just be mindful of the power cord on the exhaust side, as pushing the duct too far on may cut the coating. All in all, for the price it's very worth it.

I bought this fan to boost air into thr farthest run from my ducting to the farthest bedroom. It's relatively quiet and it kept the bedroom much warmer this winter. I just leave it plugged in whenever it's cold out.

This is awesome, after I installed it I bought another. Quiet and easy to install, light whisper sound and air flow greatly increased to upstairs room

Measured 41 watts of power usage in Canada. Wonder if the CFM is also misleading.
