I was in the middle of putting tire & tube back on a 700c/29er rim when this arrived. I can't say yet how good it is for tire removal, but that's not the hard part. Getting your tire back on the rim, that's the hard part. The Tyre Glider put my tire back on the rim MUCH more easily than using the usual plastic tire levers that we all carry. O.M.G. easy. As always when mounting tires, it is MUCH easier if you pay attention to keeping most of the bead that you're working on in the central depression or valley or channel of the rim. Watch a few YouTube videos and heed the advice on positioning your body and the tire & rim: the easy motion is forward and downward. Forward and downward. If you watch a demo video and they don't show the forward and downward motion, you are not watching the right demo video. Keep looking! Watch "John on a Bike" to see a guy struggle the first time. He also did a later review of the newer, red model of Tyre Glider. Watch "James Social Cycling" to see a guy using the tool backwards when he first mounts his tire. He then does it correctly at about the 4 minute mark, and he reluctantly admits that the Tyre Glider works well. Watch "Tom Stringer" to see a roadside repair of a flat tire, done by a fellow who knows how to do it right. Watch "Ride with Roy" for the inventor AND A NOOBIE demonstrating on some difficult tires. This gadget is a really, really good innovation for do-it-yourself bike maintenance. It is small enough and useful enough that it easily earns its place in your on-the-bike toolkit. I recommend the Tyre Glider highly.

CAUTION: I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING EITHER OF THE TOOLS DISCUSSED BELOW ON CARBON RIMS!When removing a tight tire, I was astounded at how well this tool works. No matter how tight, every tire I tried could be removed single-handed in 30 seconds or less.Unfortunately, installing a tight tire is a different story, and I kept running into the same problem: with some of the bead still outside the rim, the friction between the tool and the rim became so high that I could not advance the tool along the rim to seat the last few inches of bead.I was stuck, and was forced to go back to my normal tool for this job, an inexpensive plastic "Kool Stop Tire Bead Jack" (also sold here), which works well to pull the last few inches of bead over the rim.But there's a problem: as anyone who has attempted to mount a really tight tire knows from experience, the most frustrating part of the job is that as you force one end of the bead over the rim, the other end pops off, and it's wack-a-mole time as you chase the bead around the rim, especially if you are working alone.(I have known one or two people with hands so strong they don't need mechanical assistance to pop the bead over the rim with a hand at each end of teh unmounted bead, but I'm not one of them.)BUT... it turns out that once you can't force this tool further along one end of the unmounted bead, it's the perfect "stop" to hold that end in place while you use the bead jack on the other. And used this way in combination with the bead jack, the tire pops right on, every time, every tire, - and this has become my go-to method for mounting such tires in the shop.In my case, for MTN biking - where an unfixable flat can mean a very long walk - I've decided it's worthwhile to carry both tools. For road use, for many riders, the few extra ounces may not be worth the tradeoff. But if you *do* have both these tools available when you get a flat, you WILL be able to quickly and easily get the tire off and back onto the rim, single-handed, every time.

Worked great right out of the box on Pirelli tubeless tires, with minimal effort on the first try -- way easier than using traditional tire levers. Tubeless tires fit tight and this tool got them off no problem. I see that some people said in their reviews that the plastic broke off right at the weakest point -- the little nub that clips over the rim when sliding the tool around the rim. That didn't happen for me but I could see how it could happen. So, I think I will buy an additional one of these tools -- one for more frequent use in my home shop, and the 2nd for emergencies only in my saddle bag. This will reduce wear and tear on the one I will need when I get a flat tire on the road.

Crazy good invention! We couldn’t get the tires of our ebikes using every other tool and brute force. The tire glider does it in 2 seconds. LOVE IT!!!!

Lo utilicé tanto en bicicleta de montaña como en ruta y en ambos casos cambié la cámara. Funcionó exactamente como se muestra en el video.

I watched the videos on youtube and found this to be a great product that is easy to use for both removal and installation of tight tires on rims. It is light and strong and works really well.

I was able to fit an impossible tire with it (Pirelli Pzero Race TLR 4s), but the hook for fitting the tire broke on the second use.it's still the only tool that manage to do the job. I tried before with tire levers and tire pliers
