What is thermocouple and tilt switch repair kit for patio gas heater?
- A thermocouple is essentially a safety device for your patio heater. They are found on other devices as well. The thermocouple is designed to keep the pilot lit using a small electric current. Tilt switch is designed to kill gas flow to main burner if the heater tips over.
Why Does My Patio Heater Keep Going Out?
- Pilot is too far from the thermocouple
- The Pilot is Dirty or Corroded
- If the valve that runs between them is too loose or too tight, the amount of gas being released will be too much or too little, and either way will shut down the pilot light.
- Carbon can build up on the thermocouple in a similar way to gas on the pilot. The constant run of gas over the thermocouple causes this buildup, and it can cause the sensor to not pick up on the pilot light.
- When the thermocouple wears out, it will stop sensing the pilot. This will shut down the heater again, and you won’t be able to keep warm.

Great price, (especially the two pack). Direct replacement for may brands. Very easy to install, once you get the existing heater dismantled enough to get to these parts. That doesn't reflect on these replacement parts or the seller. Just a fact of the original heater design.I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

This is the 2nd time I’ve purchased this product, the first one is still running strong after replacing 3 years ago but now my 2nd heater went out and I knew exactly what to do.The first time, I thought I was SOL and needed to throw my heater away but after some research, figured out that I needed to buy this item.It doesn’t come with instructions but there’s plenty of videos on YouTube, all you really need is a Phillips screwdriver and some plyers.It takes about 10 minutes, simply remove the old parts and replace with new, Nothing tricky.Product works and saves you money.

I was thinking of throwing out my patio heater as I have not been able to lite it for over a year. I finally put in an effort to see if it could be fixed and watched a you tube video on it. I was able to look at the suspect parts through the access plate on the heater and they looked like the ones I was about to order. I ordered parts and they arrived in two days, I put them in right away. Patio heater now works again, very happy.
