I bought two of these as my brother and I opted to hunt in the big woods this year for whitetail deer. We used this to get his big 9pt buck off the mountain. It’s normally a 70 minute walk to the deer stand, and using this to get his buck out was a tremendous back saver as there wasn’t any snow on the ground to drag a deer.

So, bought this, the following day, I find one that was 10 dollars cheaper and black, so I did return this one for the black one and it being cheaper. When I received both, I did measure the thickness of the plastic, and same thickness and I did compare the ropes. It all seemed exactly the same. So, I cant knock it other than price!

This sled didn’t survive even a single recovery. Used it to drag a buck (estimated 150-160lbs) half a mile through East Texas national forest. At first I was optimistic because it definitely made dragging a lot easier for the first 200-300 yards. But then it started falling apart. The wide grommets for the strap started coming loose. And once they came loose, the HDPE split right away. Stopped and rigged the strap through another set of remaining grommets and the same thing happened over and over until all the grommets failed. At that point the sled hung up on every little brush/deadfall and wound up around the deer’s back legs. Might work well if you’re dragging down a well maintained trail. But I hunt in timber with deadfalls, brush, vines, creeks, and small hills. Definitely not suited for my needs.

I don't know if it would hold up better in snow and with smaller deer but I was dragging a larger deer on wet leaves and the sled broke about 50 yards into the drag.

I obviously got this for hunting season. Unfortunately, I didn't get a deer this year so I never got to fully try it out. I did open it up and have one of my 50lbs children lay in it to test it out, lol. I'm a little concerned that this might not be sturdy enough for hauling a deer. The quality and durability seem questionable. Should I get a deer next year, I'll update this review with my experience.

The sled quality is good. Has good functionality. Nice storage capacity. Works good in snow. Good value for money.
