I've become fairly stingy with my Amazon reviews. Only writing about products that truly impress me. I have to agree with other reviewers. This mat is a remarkably good product.To begin, the mat came boxed in a box that was well suited to its size, and inside a woven bag that protects the mat during transport. The bag is sewn shut on both ends. Although the recommendation is that one should roll the mat in the opposite direction in which it arrived to flatten the edges, in my case that wasn't necessary. It laid flat right out of the bag, and does not slide or shift on the solid floor. I don't recommend for carpet.The mat is exceptionally thick and undoubtedly puncture "proof", and absolutely transparent. If I had to offer one observation, is that it should ideally be flat instead of highly glossy. Nevertheless its still attractive.I just received it, so I cannot speak with authority about durability, but can only expect that in view of the material, construction, and thickness, it will hold up for a very long time. In the end, this is a solid five star product.

47" by 35". Is truly 1/8 inch thick. Crystal clear so it shows the beauty of my new flooring though the mat. It has an invisible coating on one side that keeps the mat in place as the wheeled chair rolls over it. Has not moved even an inch on my vinyl plank flooring after 1 week of daily use of the chair, moving the chair back & forth many times a day. One corner & the center of one of the 47 inch long edges seems to be off the floor a tiny bit, but not enough to cause any tripping danger. It may flatten out after some time or when the temperature gets a bit warmer as it is in an area with AC set to 70 degrees. I have not tried anything to flatten it out in these areas as it is not causing a problem for me or the other person who uses the chair. Its clarity, thickness, floor protection, and the fact that it always stays in place more than makes up for the slight rising of the center of one edge & one corner. The quality & thickness of this item insures that it will last a very long time. Note that this is being used on a hard floor, not a carpet, so I cannot comment on if it would work on a carpet. I am going to order two more for 2 other rolling chairs on the same type of flooring.

Performs its function perfectly. Extremely difficult to get it to unroll and lie flat, even after putting it on a radiator with large heavy objects on it.

Awesome product and great quality. Unlike most it is softer and has a nice roll when you move your chair. Not hard plastic that eventually cracks. The biggest review complaint is that it is hard to unroll and lay flat. It does come rolled but just lay it in the sun with bricks or paint cans for a day and it comes out perfect. For the price I would much rather let it relax before use than buy a hard plastic one that will eventuall crack.

This folded out flat within a few minutes. In fact, I don't think it really needed much time at all. NOT recommended for ANY kind of carpeted area. However, this is perfect for a hardwood floor. This is pretty thick yet extremely flexible. And clear. Will show the beauty (or scratched up mars) of your floor. I *think* it would do fine on many times of tile. As long as it's not too bumpy or the grooves too deep. But that's just speculation. I tried it on my 12" sq tiles floor (with about an 1/8-1/4" in deep grooves) and found I could feel it bumping slightly over the grooves but it worked just fine.I am using it to augment a "carpet" chair mat which has started to break apart with sharp edges to puncture bare feet under a desk in a home office. I think I probably should have gone with something a little less flexible. Even though chairs roll along it just fine, there is quite a lot of give, even with it on top of the other, much harder, chair mat.Time will tell.For now I would definitely recommend itI also wish I had taken a picture of it after arrival. Packaged well in it's own protective cover it came beautifully clear and without and scratches or blemishes of any kind.

I bought this for my son's room. I didn't want a mat that had hard spikes and this one was smooth on both sides, so it protects the floor. It's thick, good quality, and wasn't too pricey. The mat came rolled, but flattened out after laying it on the floor for a day with books on the corners to keep it down. I do recommend!

Look it’s a chair mat – it was hard to unroll – kept curling – I weighted it down – checked back to Amazon it said give it 72 hrs – it’s had over a week – there was something about warm water – let me just bugger about with warm water on a freshly refinished oak floor. Not happening.When I buy something like this, I just want something that does what it’s supposed to – this was way more hassle and effort than it should be. I don’t know where they are getting these 5-star reviews and lay flat pictures of mats. Maybe ours is defective, but seems unlikely and rolling it up again to return? I call this an epic fail. The picture is after over a week of being weighed down – not acceptable, the chair mat was way more hassle than getting the new desk and chair - LATEST my wife tripped on the curled edge, I'm returning it for a refund - unrolled and never used because it never lay flat avoid - I assume they are relying on people not wanting the hassle of returning - looking at the other reviews they seem to be mostly of the hard mats that ship flat - hence they lay flat I guess - 2nd update I do now see other people saying the same as me, had they been posted earlier I would not have bought - I did pay more for tempered glass instead with a different company via Amazon which so far is fine and does the job
