It works great. Nothing is malfunctioning. The sides do not get burnt. Easy to empty and clean. I have had it for a couple months and the light is still working. Sleek design too. I bought this for my home to help eliminate odor and it does just that. The open slot in the back is small so not a lot of extinguishing smoke escapes.Update December 2021:This is the second time buying this product. My first ashtray is still functioning perfectly! I bought a second one for my car. I bought it in all black this time (the first time I purchased the black and gray). It is still a sleek design. Everything is functioning. However, on the first ashtray, this next statement will be the third update on this feature: the light did finally stop working, but truthfully I’m not worried about the light not working. If you are expecting a very long life span for ashtray lights, that is something I have never had happen on any ashtrays I have owned. The lights just aren’t meant to last forever. :) So I would not let this downfall sway your buying decision.

I have had this around 2 months and the light is struggling to hold on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I got it to stop ashes from blowing all over my car and to cut the order down and it does that perfectly! It cleans up like brand new. The cigarette holder works if you kinda smoosh your cig into it. The lid will not close while a cig is in the holder. It fits into my cup holder. If you put a lit cig in and close the lid the cig will continue to burn but you will not smell it nor will it burn through like a plastic one will. Definitely better than trying to ash in that little hole. lol

This ashtray is perfect in quality and durability, reduces odor when closed, a port for holding sticks and won't catch on fire or anything if something bad happens. The only thing that's an issue is really the blue light, it fails rather quickly, not sure if it's the battery, sensor or just the quality of the light but it's a very minor flaw.

I don't usually write reviews, but this car ashtray is pretty great. I like the way it looks and it feels pretty solid. Unlike the last car ashtray I had, this one can actually hold a cigarette in place. I love that you can unscrew the bottom, which makes it so much easier to empty out and clean. The top is a simple lift open design, which I like because the ones with the press down/flip up tops always seem to get stuck and/or break (like my last one did). I know the battery life for the little lights on these things never lasts long so I appreciate the extra battery that came with it.

You can't really set your cigarette down as you could a normal, household ashtray. I got this for those rainy days when rolling down your windows will just get you wet, and because I try not to flick them out the window. The little blue light doesn't always work and sometimes it flickers. Other than that it does its job

On my old one the top came off, spilling butts everywhere. This one in great, all one piece, holds a cigarette and has a light. Very happy with my purchase.

Update: 1/2024- the first purchased in 2021 lasted 2+ years (maybe would’ve lasted longer if it hadn’t been stolen).. second purchased in 2023 lasted a year. Taking a chance on a 3rd because I do like the quality of this product!This ashtray in my SUV is perfect! The quality is the best I’ve had out of many. It is medium weight (body is metal), lid is heavy plastic. The size is not too big, not too small.. just right! Easy to empty- easy to clean! Big plus that the bottom unscrews & empty from there! (Try emptying other ashtrays from the top- been there, done that.) Washing is a breeze too because of the bottom lid access. The little light is great also- it’s not too bright & distracting at night. Of course it does not keep your car odor free but does work better than any others I have tried. I did read all reviews before my purchase & don’t agree with a lot of the negatives. Needs emptying maybe once a week (unless you’re a chain smoker & live in your car). Don’t know how long the light will last. I have had it for 5 months now & completely happy with my purchase.

Works well. Seals very well when lid is closed. Light could be a bit brighter and it doesnt work when real cold but that is an LED trait. Hopefully battery lasts as it looks to be difficult to replace battery

This does not appear to be a " THIKPO " ashtray . There is no label or Thikpo insignia on it anywhere , just made in China on the box . The Thikpro i saw at a freinds had the Thikpo name on it and was slightly larger height and diameter . Is this a knock off ?
