These connectors are amazing, as long as you use a heat gun(not a lighter) to shrink them down and melt the solder. I’ve used them for car stereo installs as well as wiring in underglow and interior footwell lights. They hold great and really keep the wires protected from water seeping in and shorting electronics out.

These are an amazing product if you have a boat trailer or do any type of electrical work. They take a pretty good amount of heat to melt and Are very durable. When I see these repairs done I know they’re sealed and waterproof and done good. The colors on it look a little weird but it’s easy to identify them. These are an amazing value for the money, especially compared to buying stuff at local stores. Are use these on a very small gauge wire and they held extremely well.

This is the best, and easiest way to make a secure and water proof electrical wire connection and or repair. All that is needed, is wire clippers / strippers, and a lighter. 1. Slide correct size connector over one side of the wires to be connected. 2. Strip about 1/2 inch of ends of both wires of the connection, twisting the bare wire tight. 3. Hold a wire in each hand of connection. Bring stripped ends together 90 degrees apart half way on each stripped scection and counter twist the ends together.*Note* Wires should now be in a single run, not side by side. 4. Slide connector centered over center of connection. Heat with lighter until solder melts and connector shrinks tightly onto wire.

These are amazing. Only difficult part is holding two wires and doing heat at same time. Wire insulation will discolor if not careful with the heat. I saw a great video someone made testing this, but they didn't add enough heat to melt soldier. The ring in the middle WILL MELT when you get temp high enough and you will see it melt between wires and make a very solid connection.

This is a good assortment of devices to join wires. It combines low temp solder glue and heat shrink outer tubing. You can use a lighter or heat gun to melt the solder and glue and shrink the tubing for a secure connection of smaller wires.

These fittings are easy to use and great for connections that need to be soldered together. Heating did take quite a bit of heat to solder but connection is strong and wire is clean.

I admire the concept but the reality is different. The solder as many reviewers mentioned does not melt. completely I used a heat gun with a special nozzle to direct the heat back. Even with this method the solder struggled to melt completely. Luckily, none of the plastic melted through. I would continue to use these butt connectors for convenience but would go back to soldering if something more critical is required. P.S. The container was as brittle as rice paper. It cracked and broke. Had to use tape to keep it together. For $9 per box of 100, I would recommend these with reservation.
