I have the TImbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag in 2 other sizes and while the Large size is good for basically everything, it is pretty big and bulky.I got this X-Small for just essentials when I am out doing a site visit.I am able to carry my digital camera, some eye protection, some small hand tools, pens, and a small note pad.It probably can hold a small tablet like an ipad mini or regular ipad, but my surface pro 9 is just a tad too big.Build quality is as always fantastic and will hold up to daily use.The price is a bit high, so it is best to see if you can get these when there is a sale going on.

This is simply the best messenger bag you can purchase. It screams quality and craftsmanship, and has just enough compartments and zippers and different size pockets for all of your storage needs. Looks fantastic, great water assistance, the perfect size for a 13 inch laptop like a Mac MacBook Air or iPad.

This is an amazing bag! The material is heavy duty and easy to clean. The bag looks and feels small, but has a lot of storage. The strap has extra padding and feels like it will last. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I found this bag to be well made and look good but it does not distribute the weight nearly as well as a back pack. I was expecting this to a point but the weight of the items I wanted to carry on one shoulder was uncomfortable. I also found the small to be more compact than I wanted. (The difference between the small and medium appears to only be the interior size and not by much. The medium also folds/compresses down so it's extra depth was not a problem when under filled.) I ended up returning it.

This is the medium. Boy howdy can you get some books in here. I normally carry a journal and sometimes 2 books, along with various journal supplies. Once I packed all the stuff in my old purse/messanger bag into the Timbuk2 I realized I had a lot more room so I decided to see how thick of a book I could get in there without curling the edges. The medium did NOT disappoint!! I was able to fit the 2 biggest Brandon Sanderson books STACKED and there was still enough room for another smaller book. The fact that this thing will also repel the rain while walking outside is another bonus because I don't want my books or journals to get water damage. There is only 1 thing I would add/ change to this bag and that's having grip on the big metal D-ring that holds the strap together. My strap keeps slipping out and not holding position. Overall I would still recommend this bag to anyone book lover or not.

This is a high quality messenger bag made of good materials. If you never used/owned previous versions, that should be all that matters. You will be happy with it.That said, it is not as good as the previous version though (to me), as I have issues with the features. On a base level, I feel this is still a very good bag and basically the same as the last version (which I own). The main thing is I don't like the new strap/strap tightener. There is so much extra strap flopping around. The strap keeper is not tight enough and does not do a good job. There should probably be 2 of them. When you have the bag high on your back, there is still so much extra strap. The new clasp does not feel as secure. I felt the previous version was way better. The new system just feels way more sloppy.I am fine with the new shoulder strap padding (previous version was great as well). It is removable now, which is great. It is super stiff. I assume it will break in over time. It is longer than the previous version as well. The handle on the top is padded now, which is welcome. The new Eco Cordura material they are using feels good. The TPU lining on the inside is nice. With this new version though, they didn't fix things I feel they should address. The 2 inside pockets on the ends in the main area still SUCK. They are way too small. The mesh pocket can't even fit a 32oz water bottle. What is even the point. The other pocket is so small. These 2 end pockets should be big stretchable mesh pockets, so you can organize and distribute the weight in the main compartment, to put taller heavy things on the ends. I don't know why the insist on making them so small. Ideally, they should put mesh pockets along all the sides on the inside, so you can manage the empty space better. The organization pockets on the front are so high, they don't function great. Since the bag has no structure, when you put things into these pockets, the weight pulls it down into the bag. All the videos and promo shots of the bag show the bag fully packed to the top edge (or the bag on its back), which give the pockets structure so they function properly. But you don't have your bag fully packed out like that all the time.I feel there is such a missed opportunity to have better organization/pockets on the outside and the insides, where the weight that these pockets hold is properly distributed. It is a floppy bag, so all this matters. Also, the way the top handle is situated. It pulls on the top flap/lid. If you don't have it tied down, it doesn't work correctly. I don't know how to address this really, since the bag has no structure, I don't know where else to anchor the handle. This is a nice to have, I wish the bottom had a little padding, to cushion it when you put it down. Along the back side of the bag would be nice too.Anyways, I hope timbuk2 reads this. This is a really good bag, it has such good materials and construction. Just the design feels so behind the times to me. Most of my complaints stem from owning timbuk2 bags for so long. Even with my complaints, this is still a great bag I would choose over other brands .

This cute, heavy duty, durable bag filled all my requirements. The 15” was perfectly sized for work. Has all the needed functions but has little access on the outside for those items you want to get to on the move. Would definitely buy again

I am a Timbuk2 user for more than 30 years. I like this bag for daily runs around town when I’m on public bus or in my own car. The pockets are great for my daily essentials, the size is perfect for my daily needs, and these bags hold up for years! I got this one to replace my previous bag of 20 years and am loving all the updates to the closures, the straps and the shoulder pad!

Excellent quality and lots of brilliant compartments. Have had before and so pleased I went for it again. Could have a more fun colour choice but no other complaints.

Gargantuan bag, pretty much a bag of holding. Exceedingly comfortable thanks to the ortholite strap and all the strap adjustment possibilities. They've thought a lot about the practical uses of this bag. Will definitely buy more Timbuk2 stuff.
