Cheap scissors that will cut metal and plasticsKeep in mind they are not an expensive pair , if you need them for a big project or more frequently spend a little more for a more sturdy pair. For me they are great

I used these to cut some aluminum flashing for a project. They cut very well with minor binding, I would not use these on anything heaver than flashing. For the price on these, this would be a good item to buy if you have a few tasks or want something around for light use.It does not compare to cutters than can do steel of course, and I would not attempt to cut steel with these.

I needed to cut some sheet metal, and I found that I couldn't do it without the proper tool. I was happy to find this inexpensive pair of tin snips, since I only need to cut metal occasionally.Pros:-It cuts well and leaves a rounded edge rather than a sharp one-The spring is nice and strong, ensuring the jaws open after each cutCons:-It doesn't have any padding on the solid plastic grip, but you can't expect much for $5 at the time of writing-It is hard to engage the locking feature since you are fighting the spring-It does leave serration marks on the cut line, so these might not be good for decorative workAll in all, if you need to cut some thin sheet metal once or twice, these will likely do the trick

I want to give this four stars because it appears to be very cheap or just not made with the highest quality in mind. However…. I can’t give it four stars because of that just because they work so well. Incredibly sharp. In fact, they are sharper than most of my scissors and these are made to cut tin. That clear plastic Amazon stuff comes in that’s really thin, it sliced right through it! It was so smooth that I didn’t think it cut it. The blades themselves are excellent quality. Worth every penny and to be completely honest I’m going to destroy the way they look over time and that’s really not even the important part about them. I guess by the end of this, it deserves five stars for sure.

These 10 snips were not the best. While they worked for things like paper and cardboard, i'd be hard pressed to actually cut metal with them. They seemed to be more or less a glorified pair of scissors Definitely not the best quality not what I was expecting.

***FULL DISCLOSURE: Item was received for free through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review.***The blades on these tin snips dulled almost immediately upon first use. I guess that's to be expected given the price, but I was kinda hoping this would yield a good set of tin snips without the awful serrations most models leave on the material. Instead, these are more like medical scissors than anything else.So yeah, they work, but not well.

I've had several versions of tin snips, and shears over the past 40 years.I'm not a pro sheet metal worker; so I don't need a specialized tool for every job. But, when I saw these come up in the things I could try from the Amazon Vine program; I thought they'd be worth trying. These shears work better, and are more comfortable than the 10 inch shears (the look like an over size pair of scissors) I've been using most of the past 25 years for light sheet metal, and hardware cloth projects around my property. They both the pipe strap and hardware cloth with little effort, and my anthric hands weren't bothered by the grips. These will be my metal shears from now on; the old pair will be for plastic sheeting, and cloth.

Sharp tin snips with a reasonably comfortable handle (hard plastic). It cut well on the materials I tried, the cuts were straight and clean. Assuming it remains sharp, it does the job.It has a tab so it doesn't open too far (see pic) but, even though the price is very reasonable for the relative sturdiness of the tool, I had to take off a star because the tab doesn't keep the tool closed so you can store it. You can't put open tin snips into a tool bag or drawer, it's a safety hazard (people reaching in and rummaging for a tool) and it could potentially damage other items in the bag or poke a hole in the bag itself. I'm surprised it doesn't have a tab to keep it closed when not in use. There's no pouch either (which would help keep it closed), just a thin plastic bag for shipping, which tore when I pulled out the tool.If you keep your tools lying on a workbench or hang them on a pegboard, rather than toting it in a bag, it might work. Otherwise look for one that has a pouch or which has a tab that reliably closes the blades.
