Do you have a broken or deteriorated bezel?
Replace it now! Cracks can cause damage to the shifter boot's bottom while deteriorated plastic can loosen the bezel, compromising its usability.
To remove damaged or deteriorated bezels, lightly press the sides of the bezel inwards and then pop out.
To install the replacement shifter bezel, insert it through the shifter boot with the front (the taller edge and with the snap-on clips at the bottom) end facing the dashboard. Drape the rubber boot over the bezel and gently press the bezel down on both ends until it clicks in place. The bezel will create a snug hold, preventing the boot from flopping around.
Take note that there's only one way to install this bezel so ensure that it's facing the right way before pressing it into place.

These rectangular plastic bezels fit boots and consoles equipped with T4, AX4, T5, AX5, AX15, or BA-10/5AX5 manual transmission for the Cherokee XJ 1984-1994 models and AX5, AX15, NV2550, or NV3550 manual transmission for the Wrangler TJ 1997-2004 models.
Unsure about the fit?
This shifter bezel is 6.25" long, 5.5" wide, and 4.5" high on its tallest end. The bezel's shape and design ensure that it fits and snaps perfectly on its designated slot on the center console. Take measurements of both the boot and the console, especially if you are not aware of the type of manual transmission used on your model.

When my original shifter boot bezel cracked, the boot just moved around with the shifter handle, no matter how much I tried to secure it. I really didn't need 2 of these, but that's how they were sold. Anyway, I figured if one broke, I'd have a spare. Installation was easy, and it latched into place securely. Perfect fit, and now the boot stays in place, like it should. I'm very happy with this product!
