I make tongue drums and wanted something that was a little longer and this particular color. They are well made and seem like they will hold up. I only wish the heads were a little harder but I can make do as they are. They work well.

One of the sticks is perfect, but the other is gouged, which is a shame because I really like them otherwise.I was kind of worried, based on some of the negative reviews, and the fact that Amazon says this is a "Frequently Returned Item," but they make my 14" (Panda Pro) tongue drum sound great for the most part.It seems that these larger diameter balls somewhat deaden the shortest tongues' resonance, which the 1/2" ones do not. But the rubber is as described, not too hard or soft for my liking, and the length is perfect for me.They just need to not package rough-textured dowels, which cheapen the quality of an otherwise nice product, because players want a smooth surface to hold.

I saw these and thought they would be perfect for my tongue drum. The ones that came with it are awfully small.I really thought these were a bit larger. They are not. These are exactly the same size as the ones it came with, so getting these didn't improve the situation. These are decent quality and work fine with the drum. I do wish they were bigger! They sound pretty much like the ones I have. Nothing great - nothing special.Overall, these are fine mallets that you can play many things with. The price point is just about right.

Very nice. Too big for kalimba but good for tongue drum

These mallets have soft rubber heads and reduce the strike noise when playing the tung drum. I was impressed. They are a little shorter than what I am used to using but they perform well

These are extremely small, look and feel more like a toy than an actual adult size, real set of mallets suitable for a full sized instrument.

These are as described. They are a little shorter than the mallets that came with my tongue drum. Those broke a few years ago. I've used other mallets on the drum, but it's nice to have a dedicated pair. The sticks are probably 2" shorter than the original, so that could be challenging for some real percussionists - though I imagine most professionals have plenty of sets for related instruments. All in all, these are great and I'm happy to have them.

These mallets are made well and seem like they would last a long time with moderate use. I tried these mallets on a number of musical instruments. They work well and about the same on the steel tongue drum as the very similar mallets that came with the drum. These new mallets work much better than my regular wooden drum sticks on bongos, cow bell, chimes and wood blocks. They sound awesome on these. They do not work on conga drums or my xylophone. Unfortunately, the description of these mallets on Amazon specifically said they were for xylophone and glockenspiels. The total length of these is 8 1/8" , a little shorter than the 8.3" in the description. I would prefer that the handles were a little longer, but that is just my preference. These are decent mallets for some applications, but because the description said they would work for a xylophone, and they do not, I have given it a 3 star rating.
