Very disappointed and angry that upon first use of the hand vise, it fell apart and not able to re-assemble to use. A total waste of time and money!

The hand wood vise works well for clamping small parts to solder but it needs to befixed before using it.Right out the package before its first use.1. The wood handle fell off and I had to re-glue the handle.2. The round rod the jaw slides on also fell out and needed to be JB weldedNumber 3 is just a personal preference and not a defect.3. The round slide rod is about 1" longer than the jaws will open and needs to be shortened.For $8.91 and a little fix-it work it is an ok deal and works very well.There is a lot of "slop" in the jaws but again it only costs $8.91 and is not exactlya precision tool.My primary use of the vise is to hold small items when I solder them.There are other devices such as hands-free tools with alligator clips but theyare not very heavy and move around.The hand vise has good weight and stays in place while you are soldering.

I purchased this to hold small parts for various hand finishing operations. It would be a fine product except that the quality is somewhat lacking. Whether it's in the design or in the manufacture I can't say, but the guide pin that aligns the jaws has a tendency to fall out and must be hammered back into place before using the tool again. This happens somewhat frequently. On the good side, it wasn't all that expensive so it just proves that you get what you pay for.
