This yard tie down has been great for me since I don't have a fenced in yard, it still let's me hang out outside with my 85lb dog and be hands free. I feel very safe and the ground anchors work really well!

Honestly I just bought this on a whim, hoping it would work. My dogs very energetic and she has really good pull strength… in my amazement its actually holding up. I planned on getting a big square 4ft piece of wood to burry and attach this thing to BUT I tried it in the ground first and I will say theres no way shes pulling that thing out. Im 254lbs and pulled all my weight on it and it still wont come out of the ground! Good product and not cheaply made.

Installation is easy. I used a 1/2" socket on a low speed drill to drive the 6 long screws into the ground rather than hammering to let the blunt tapered points be able to detect / deflect underground sprinkler pipes and the like as they went in. Our soil is clay under topsoil so it anchored well and took a lot of horizontal pull force without budging. The box says it's rated to 1000lbs but that would depend on the soil and other factors. The included cable has beefy swivels and locking carabiners at both ends and looks like it would hold anything short of a rhinoceros. With that, it's still flexible should be comfortable for all but the smallest pets.Installed, the center swivel is above ground so let the mowers know and check the clearance. I may cut it into the yard to eliminate any chance of getting dinged. The only concern I have is that the swivel base is not covered by a rubber boot nor does it have a drain hole at the bottom. I expect it will pick up dirt, grass clippings, muddy water, etc. Something to monitor. The base plate is plastic and removable so the swivel could be cleaned out if that got to be a problem. We have a new mid-sized puppy/mutt that loves being outside and loves to dig under the gate. This keeps her safe and mobile while we get her trained.

I have an amazingly strong Cane Corso that I love to take with me when I go on vacations or trips to visit friends and relatives. I can't always bring him inside with me so he has to stay outdoors. I don't want to lose him so I keep him contained. I needed something that would be strong and reliable but, at the same time, not limit his movements and be safe for him. This didn't disappoint! This tie out is incredibly easy to use. Installing it is as easy as finding the perfect spot for your pup and hammering the tie out into the ground. Once installed, you can attach a chain or lead to it and your dog will have full 360 rotation thanks to the swivel ball in the center of the tie out. There isn't any risk of the lead or chain becoming twisted or wrapped around a stake or hook so you don't have to worry about your pet getting tangled and hurt or scared. This tie out even comes with a 30ft tie out cable that has proven to be quite sturdy and strong for even my big boy. When I am ready to remove the tie out, I simply pour water on the ground where it is and it loosens enough to be pulled out of the ground. I've used it several times and it is still holding up very well. The construction and materials of this tie out are strong, sturdy, and look great! The blue color is very nice. There aren't any sharp edges that could hurt your pet and I'm yet to have to worry about my dog being able to rip it out of the ground and take off. The price for this set is about average for most high-quality tie outs but this one is a favorite for me. The construction and ease of use can't be beat!

I’ll start this review by saying I have a Catahoula Leopard/Walker Coonhound mix 2 year old pup. IYKYK but in case You’re unfamiliar, that mix of breeds means she is a big, strong, and tenacious pup who is quite a Houdini in that she somehow escapes any confinement. I live in the country but do not allow my dogs to wander unattended (they are house pets most always) but when I leave them outside for fresh air and sunshine, it is imperative that the tie out is substantial because she will pull it out of the ground if there is any way to do so__There are six stakes included in this set and they are ten inches long, which makes them very firmly seated once driven all the way into the ground__The hub has holes where the stakes are threaded through__It takes some effort to get those stakes driven all the way into the ground, but I’m not the strongest person either. Of course that depends on the ground softness where it is installed too__I’ve had this in use for about a month now, and the swivel works as good as new. We have had a very wet and snowy winter, so I think there would have been some sign of rust by now if that would be an issue__I appreciate the bright pink color I chose because it is highly visible. I once had a green one which the lawn care person did not see. Yikes.BOTTOM LINE: An excellent product that I would recommend to anyone in need of such an item

My fig is a Great Dane / Lab puppy and weighs 90 pounds and he has gotten it loose from ground. The way I’ve gotten it secured better was to put screws into ground at outward angle. When weather breaks I’m going to invest in longer anchors. Can see how this would stop 150 pound dog unless anchored in concrete

This tie-down worked well with the current winter ground conditions, relatively cold, moist but not muddy soil. I first tested this using only two of the stakes and was unable to budge the unit myself, even pulling at full strength and at a run. With the full 6 stakes in the ground, my 45 pound and strong terrier mix was able to run around and play while I was grilling some burgers. I'm not going to use this to tie my dog out by herself, but for situations like this where I'm going to be there but too busy to chase after her or want to keep her away from the grill while still being able to play outside, this will come in handy.
