Half way to the 113°F mark was about 110°F Water...what the child day care inspector said was the max allowed. Our water outputs were 3/8 compression, pretty standard. To the bottom output of limiter we added a 1/2 NPT female to 3/8 compression male. The G 1/2 female adapter is not a good fit...those are for the rest of the world - different thread count and pitch. Hot water input from faucet goes here. Compression fittings DO NOT NEED teflon tape. The rubber seals work well.We then used a premade hose that was 3/8 compression from the hot shut off - to a 1/2 NPT female to the left side of limiter. The 1/2 fitting on these also has a rubber seal. No teflon tape needed here either. Ours had to be 20 inches. On the cold shutoff we used a 3/8 compression female 'T" to 2 male 3/8 compressions. Cold hose from faucet goes on one of these.Other 3/8 from "T" hooks to premade 3/8 compression hose. 1/2 NPT fitting on hose goes to right side of limiter. Done! We used a 16 inch hose on this side. Some limiter kits include clips that mount on the wall to hang limiter by your hoses. I needed mine closer, so used 3 to 4 inch hose clamps to attach to a 1-1/2 drain fitting. I made a custom wood wedge behind limiter, so temperature could be more easily adjusted.Amazon has the 3/8 "T's" and 1/2 NPT to 3/8 compression adapters, if you can not find them at your Home Depot or Lowe's. Our Menards has a good selection - and I "Save Big Money" there. Good Luck!Turning the knob on top all the way to F will allow your original hot water temperature. I recommend MAXIMUM temperature of 129°F to prevent scalding yourself.

This mixing valve is one of the few on Amazon that uses the standard NPT found in the US. It works well with typical NPT fittings or with FIP. When using FIP fittings like you find on the braided flex lines, DO NOT use teflon tape. FIP doesn't need to seal via thread contact. The FIP fittings have a rubber washer that seals. Unfortunately there are a variety of thread types to navigate, so you need to know what you are doing when choosing compatible fittings. I had no problem with leaks that others complain about, other than the one I neglected to tighten!I installed this on a 4 gal undersink water heater which I need to set to around 130 deg to keep it from running out of hot water before the main water heater makes it to the sink. 130 will be unpleasantly hot after a couple seconds, and I found setting this mixing valve to 110 works well for cleaning dishes without scalding myself and having to control the temperature with the faucet. Also the advantage of mixing valves like this is that you can set the water heater temp higher and this will keep the water at the faucet at a constant temperature with just the hot side of the faucet open.

Works good. Compact. Inexpensive. Simple. But, had difficulty with leaks at pipe connections. I used teflon pipe dope which should have done the trick. However all 3 pipe fittings had minute leaks. I had to take it apart & use a heavier blue sealant which worked. I would buy again.

Honestly? You could install this at every sink in the house. I'm using it temporarily for the SHOWER! I'm waiting for my Delta valves and fixtures so I temporarily set this up and guess what? It's incredible! It maintains a high water pressure, very precise temp, very easy to install and use. For the money, this really could be install throughout the house to prevent burns. I say this to those who have children in the house or come into the house. You could use it at a pet grooming tub. Think about it- you set it to match the perfect temp for dogs or cats and then it's done. I'm buying more now.

At the final inspection, the town’s plumbing inspector informed me that the building code requires a thermostatic mixing valve on our new shower stall. Wish he told me before I closed up the wall. Nevertheless, I had to install one. This valve is relatively easy to install and has been working well for the past 2 months.

The item is claimed to be lead free but seller failed to provide certification for it. Is it safe for sale in California?Bought 2, 1 of them vibrates and/or makes noises during use after installation and returned it. The other is good. As mentioned by others, there could be a surge of high temperature water out of this valve in the beginning of usage.

Not much to say against it, works and is inexpensive. Now I can run the tiny water heater in my camper at 180f so get a little more capacity. I have it set at 110f. Although I haven’t checked the accuracy it seems to be working perfectly. I can just run the hot without burning myself and without wasting water trying to get the temperature right. Excellent product!

Both inlets have a stainless still disc just 1/16" inside the threaded end. This means if you have pex fittings where you hand thread the fitting on here, the center of the fitting will hit the disc before it seals, and you will have to use extensions in order to use the pex fittings.Beyond that - I installed this behind my RV shower enclosure since the RV shower handle is difficult to get a just right setting, then since doing "Navy" showers, doing this like 3x per shower. Anyway, now I get perfect temp water even when turning off and back on. I plumbed the output of this to both C/H sides of the RV fitting so it basically has become just on/off.I also checked how quickly this works. Before I would capture about 7 cups water before the hot was to the shower head. With this device installed, it's the same time - so no additional water use for it to get up to temperature.

I used this to reduce water temperature in my shower and toilet sink, both for comfort (easier to find the right temperature) and safety. We ended up using less hot water since we have this, so a bit of saving as well. It's simple to install if you can handle a bit of plumbing - run hot & cold water pex in and get warm water out, with a fitting required on each end. If you run a 1/2'' line out of it you'll have to wait less long to get hot water.Does not leak if properly tightened - one of the only valves of this type I could find with NPT threads. The temperature control allows for fine adjustments, even if the numbers on the dial are not accurate.Good buy overall.

This item seems to work as intended. I use it for an outdoor tap so I can have warm water in the winter. After one year use, there are still no leaks and it’s working properly

Thread works for NTP with no leak. You can only screw a few rounds in but if you are careful there shouldn’t be any leaking.

I have not installed yet ; the adaptors to pex only went onto male valve 2 or 3 threads. I am trying to tighten and release the fittings and making progress (4 or 5 thread turns). I plan to use 6 or 7 wraps of teflon when installing in the spring ! It came with o rings that will never seat? the npt requires tape or dope to seal
