I replaced a broken one with this. My gate had a little more than an inch gap between the fence and the gate, which was not an issue with this lock. It has an easy to adjust gap adjustment that allows you to have a gap up to inch and a half, which worked perfectly for me. You can also easily adjust height wise and make sure the lock latches perfectly each time. This one has a shorter handle, so make sure it matches up to your local code of lock height requirements.

I really like this latch. It was easy to install, and there is enough tolerance to allow for narrow to fairly wide gaps. The operating mechanism works great, with a simple lift of the plunger to release the magnetic latching pin.Very highly recommend.
