They mount above trailer leaf spring assemblies and create a cushion between the axle and trailer frame. Trailer SumoSprings reduce wear and tear on body-frames, windows, doors, closets, mounted TV’s, and other components by minimizing bounce, hop, and sway associated with most tow-able RV’s. Reduced sway and bounce in the trailer results in increased driver control, ride comfort, reduced maintenance costs, and reduced overall cost of trailer ownership.

This project took me about a week’s worth of my spare time. I bought two sets for a 2000 Aljo lite tandem axle installation. Pretty straight forward - I had to reroute some brake wiring and move gas lines on both sides to satisfy clearances, but everything I needed was included in the two kits. Test drive went great. Wife and I both verified a highway improvement in handling, and a simple climb up on the roof verified a “beefier†support along the roll axis. Durability has yet to be tested, but I like the installation right outta the box.

Ok, they are pricey, no question. That said, I installed on both a 14' enclosed trailer and a 12' utility trailer. Both were lower leaf spring.Easy install, jack it up, bolt it on, boom.I suggest installing to the rear of the axle, not the front.Really stabilized the trailers. I use one for a tool trailer and the other to haul motorcycles. Kills wind kicking them around, absorbs bumps and minimizes sway.If your like me and enjoy minimal movement, these are it.

This appeared to immensely help our single axle travel trailer (Apex Nano 187RB) We were driving over bumps and rail road tracks and the noise was significantly less but also the amount that the wheels were hopping was also alot less then it was prior. The biggest down side is the cost.It was a little tricky getting the space needed to fit the spring in there initially. We didn't need to reroute many wires. So we gently rerouted the ones that were needed and didn't use the hardware to redirect it. We were able to raise the trailer using 2 floor jacks. I was a little leary but we still had everything chocked, and raised the tongue too. I wanted to have him hitch up but he was stubborn. But tires and everything were still touching the ground so atleast there was no crisis.

What an easy upgrade to the leaf springs. It bounces down the road much less, mainly helps in side to side sway going over uneven ground such as driveways to gas stations etc.. Install took me lo her to get the tools out than to bolt these up..

Installed on both 5,000 pound axles in 1hour and 20 minutes, I did already have which I needethe trailer on the ground and waiting, gravel driveway with a piece of cardboard, required 13mm deep socket, rachet or small impact wrench and a 13mm combo wrench, I had 6 1/2" clearance from spring top to frame and did not use any spacers and used the short bolt, I now have about and extra inch on clearance between my axle and my water tank supports, I like this product and may purchase heavier cushions after my next trip, I drive a lot on rocky uneven roads in the Sierra Nevada mountains to get in to camp. 2006 sierra forest river toy hauler 23 ft.

Item requires a minimum spacing between top of leaf spring and travel trailer frame of 6 3/4" with a optimal pre-load of 1/2". My unit has a 5 1/2" space that would have caused a pre-load of over 1". In order to install this unit I would have needed to purchase shorter bolts, the ones provided required the use of one of the spacers provided by SumoSprings. Need to look at other options. The quality of the item looked very good, just not for my unit.

Put these on an Apex Nano 194 at the campsite in about 30 mins. Pulling out of the campground, I was surprised at how quiet everything was when usually the leaf springs would moan and groan with every bump and turn. They did seem to dampen the bumps along the road and help when Semi-trucks passed in the oncoming lane. Seem to be legit. Only one thing in the instructions are strange; says you need a torque wrench to install, but doesn’t tell you how much torque you need. Other parts of the instructions just say not to bend the U-bolts.

Install exactly as advertised. Improved the ride and movement of the trailer.
