Nice lil' can strainer and I'm glad I got it. This is good for draining a can of beans over the sink drain hole, then the can of beans can be set on the counter, ready to use as I'm cooking. This tuna can strainer takes less space in my kitchen sink than the berry colander I used to use to drain the can of beans, and I'm all about that, plus it's easier to clean and store since it's smaller than the berry colander. I can drain multiple cans of beans with this and it will do a better job than one big colander, while taking up less space. Win-win!!
Does the job

I lived on canned tuna for almost 2 years while I got my house paid off and my finances straightened out. I hated the mess that came with draining the water from the can. I used various methods, finally settling on a mesh strainer I would dump the tuna into, then press the water out of using the back of a spoon. This little tool was a game changer. It's so brilliantly simple. The diameter of the strainer fits perfectly inside a 5 oz tuna can. Remove the lid with a can opener and insert this tuna strainer. pick up the can and press/squeeze the handles of the strainer and the bottom of the can together. Tip it so the water can be drained off and you are left with tuna that is ready to be mixed up or added to a recipe of some kind.

works like a charm, no more pressing can lid with your fingers. Almost works too well, getting a high percentage of water out of the can.

I wanted a metal tuna can strainer because I recently started a keto diet, and tuna salad is an easy and keto-friendly option for me to pack in my lunches. My can opener cuts from the side of the lid, so it's not really possible to just push the lid down into the can to squeeze out the liquid.I usually buy the larger cans and make enough tuna salad for a couple of meals, and I looked for a larger size. The only ones I could find that were specifically sized for the bigger tuna cans were plastic and looked flimsy. This item, however, said it was good for both regular and wide-necked cans. While that is true, on the larger cans you have to exercise a little more care to ensure you aren't squeezing the tuna out of the gap between the strainer and the larger can. I would happily have paid for a set of these in both the regular and larger sizes if it was available.Otherwise, this is very well-made, and being metal it cleans up easily and should last forever. It also doesn't take up a lot of room in my utensil drawer, which is appreciated. I haven't done so yet, but you can also use it to strain other canned goods by flipping it around, which can come in handy when you want to dump all the water out of some canned corn or green beans or something.

I use this all the time. Whether to strain the liquid from a can of tuna, or to drain the liquid of a can of vegetables. It makes it so much simpler. I like it so well but I have been giving it as gifts to my son and his children and many of my friends. Everyone is delighted to have it and finds it useful. Clever.

So, it goes without saying that this does exactly what it says, it perfectly squeezes out all the liquid from cans of tune. What is not mentioned is how well this product works on other food.It works just as well for canned salmon, but that would be somewhat expected. But, if you are like me, you prepare lots of asian foods, then you will discover that this is fantastic for canned bamboo, water chestnuts, baby cord, and bean sprouts. It is also useful for draining and rinsing kidney beans and many other vegetables that require draining. It also works well with fresh produce. I keep a large 2 quart mason jar handy. Just pour in strawberries, blueberies, mushrooms, etc. Ad water, give it a good swirl and drain. Just about anything you can imagine needing to rinse, where you might use a colander, this and a large jar works just as well. And when staging a meal, you can use multiple jars or leave in the cans for easy prep.

I saw this little strainer in a Youtube review video and I thought it would be just what I needed (though before then, I hadn't known I needed one). Actually, it's a great little strainer. It not only strains tuna but works on other, regular sized cans as well by sitting it on the can upside down. It's so convenient, I wonder how I ever lived without it. I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could, it's not quite 5 stars only because the edge is very sharp so you need to be careful how you handle it.
