We are putting up a sunshade sail cloth and these 1/4" Heavy Duty Turnbuckles are just what is needed to provide the tension in the wire rope holding the sunshade. They are stainless steel so that they can be easily used outdoors, even if you have salt in the air as we do in SW Florida. The working limit of each turnbuckle is 300 pounds and so suspending a car is probably not a good idea, but the 5 pound sail cloth can be dropped to the ground in a windy day.
