Simple, well made…nice heavy construction. Good luck trying to find this size in your local hardware store. If you come across anything close to this in an auto parts store or marine supply store, you will pay double or triple. Do take the time to understand how “U” bolts are measured. There are plenty of YouTube videos that explain this. Plus there are 2 types, traditional U and square U.

Used these for a boat trailer axle - perfect fit over the 2 inch square axle- great price..

Overall I would say these are probably pretty good, and since I'm running my trailer in saltwater, the Springs will probably rust out before these do. However, hot dip galvanized is a much thicker coating than what's on these. I don't think I would call them galvanized, I would just call them zinc bolts. I know they're both zinc, but zinc is usually a thin shiny coating and galvanized is a much thicker heavier rougher looking coating. The zinc on these bolts is pretty thin.

These bolts and plates are very weak and cannot stand the torque required to attach leaf springs to an axle. 1/2" bolts are supposed to be torqued to 65 foot lbs, or at the very least 45 foot lbs. These will deform and the threads strip before you get 40 foot lbs of torque on them. The plate is also too thin, and it will bend also at these pressures. I wish I could get back my time, labor and disappointment and days wasted by trying to use these for the purpose they were advertised for.

Bummer cross thread on one of the bolts has left me with a bad system
