Reviewing Potent Hockey Ultimater Dangler 2.0 – Our grandson is just getting into hockey. When he puts his mind to something, he really digs in until he feels he’s the best he can be. Unfortunately, his stick handling skills are not the best. In his defense, he’s never played before, and this is totally new for him. I saw this and knew the reputation of Potent Hockey was great, and the other parents/grandparents love the brand. After speaking with a few other parents, we decided this would work out well for him to practice now that it is available in the U.S. and not just Canada! It was very easy to set up and we had it up and running with him using it within a matter of minutes. He said it’s very realistic and the first day, he used it for several hours straight. Each time needs to be charged individually, but they all connect. There are a lot of different drills you can run and with a membership, you can run even more. With the membership, you also get real time feedback, which is what helps him the most. The membership costs $18/month or $180/year. Our grandson can’t stop bragging about how much it is helping him improve so it’s completely worth it for us. You don’t HAVE to have the membership to use it though. You still get plenty of drills and feedback without it. You just get more with the membership. The panels connect to the app wireless, and it was easy and quick to connect to the app. The app allows you to see your progress over time, which is a great feature, especially for those who tend to beat themselves up and neglect to notice how much they’ve improved. The training set comes with full instructions, and they are easy to follow. If you or someone you know is serious about improving their hockey game, this is a must have!

It arrived in a surprisingly small box, compared to what I expected, which was nice because that means this things packs away nicely and will make travel easy. I managed to piece it all together fairly quick. Everything fit together without any gaps. All lights worked. I had it together and ready to use in no time, and it was all pretty intuitive, for the most part. I did skim over the instructions beforehand and that certainly helped so I recommend reading them. The board itself is very slick. You get a very large surface for practice and the puck moves smoothly on it.My son plays high school hockey and after two weeks of using this training system, he can already see improvements and so do I. The app includes a ton of drill modes. The app is free but they do have a membership you can pay for which, I've found, to be worth the cost. At least for now. They really "gamify" the process of practice which I've noticed keeps my son invested for longer periods of time. He is enjoying something new which means more time practicing which makes for improvements in his game.I am very happy with it and recommend to anyone who plays hockey, or anyone who has a child who plays. I can't really find anything to complain about with it as of now.

I got this for my son to help him with his stick handling as he's currently playing mites and seems to struggle with that aspect of the game. It's very big and takes up a lot of room, so I'm thankful that it comes apart and is easy to store away. Once assembled and turned on, it's pretty easy to use and change the modes. I don't like that many features and customizing options are locked behind a paywall and require the app and subscription to use. However the included "free" training modes work fine and should be enough for our purposes. The tiles are pretty slick out of the box, but the included spray makes them very slippery, like real ice. Overall I and my son are very happy with this.

First let me say, it's a good idea to watch the video for the installation instructions. Don't do what I did and install the rebounders wrong! Also, these don't need to be powered on full time, they just need to be charged so take some time to plug them up before connecting everything and get a good charge. They can of course be charged while it's together but the cables won't reach the ports at the same time. That all said, this thing is super cool but it really showed how bad I am at puck control. Out of the box it's actually got enough slide to use right away but it comes with a spray bottle to use when it gets worn off. I would suggest making sure you're on a nice even flat surface but I wasn't, and it worked fine. Just be sure the edges sit even because otherwise the puck will just hit them and make the whole process useless. Base of all the pieces is foam that has some play in it and it does a great job at keeping the whole system from moving at all. I think this has a lot of potential to help my game, I just need to take it slow at first and get my fundamentals down.

This dangle training is great for my 2 kids that play travel hockey. It was very easy to set up and get running. The game is fun, although it does cause the kids to dangle with their heads down, not up. the bands on the ends work great for rebounds. The USB chargers are awesome, but do not come with the actual wall plugs. I will say that this is way bigger than I expected, but the space makes sense for what we are doing. This is definitely a great value for my money.

My son plays college hockey and said this helps with his training. He enjoys the challenges and he likes practicing with a heavier puck. It's large but he has the extra space to leave it out, it would probably be annoying to put it away every time.

I've tried the Razor Dangler from Potent and it's cool but this gives more of a real life feel. Especially with the spray. Response is fairly quick. Set up is easy. It does take up some space but it's kind of unavoidable if you want to practice stick handling. Especially at this level. It is pretty cool how the tiles work as a whole even though they are just snapping together. Charge them up individually, snap together, and away you go. This is app enabled and with a paid membership you can get some custom drills. Membership is $18 a month or you save a little buying into a year.
