I like this radio, little bigger than I desired, but I knew that purchasing it. I would like to have this level of quality in a slightly smaller radio. Yes, there are better radios out there for sure.The speaker was clear, plenty of volume. I thought the radio worked really well.The Mic feels good in the hand, but a better mic probably could be added, but this works for my needs.The two things I didn't like is this radio always defaults to channel 9 when turned on, I would like for it to retain the last channel used and the fact that the mic has to be installed to get audio out. That seems really weird to me as I might want to monitor but not have a mic hanging around in the way all the time. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

I use this radio as a base station to monitor local transmissions from friends,This radio has good sencetivity, and works well on all channels, Happy.

This CB system is exactly as described and was simple to install. I received it and within minutes, it was installed in our truck and ready to use. I couldn't believe how easy it was to install, even with no prior knowledge of how to do so, it took only minutes.

I need a decent name brand CB radio for longer road trips to keep awake, listen to chatter on the CB and get road and weather conditions from other CB users on the road. I set it up "by the book" with the CB antenna and that required me to get a small SWR meter to adjust the antenna to this new Uniden CB radio & that worked good and took a few minutes. However, I installed the CB radio using my vehicle's cigarette lighter and the inline fuse from the CB to the cigarette lighter kept blowing. So, when I got time, I will do a "hard install" and wire it directly in the vehicle thru the firewall, ground it properly and to the fuse box/battery and hope this stops the fuses from blowing. Sound quality when it worked was pretty good as I connected a single external speaker to this CB radio unit, jack for the speaker is on the rear of the CB radio, next to the CB antenna. Reception is fair, but can get a longer CB antenna for better reception, I guess. You can connect PA speaker under the hood and use this as a PA system also. 3 stars......good CB unit, but not perfect.
