this is not a quilling set -- it is a paper craft that is quite difficult to do.

I’m an experienced quiller and thought this might be a change of pace. It was not what I expected because I thought it would be lines on paper rather than channels cut on foam. The foam actually makes it a bit easier, I think, but I hated that it was shipped folded because I almost never got it to lay flat! It’s important that it lays flat because the paper has to hold the shape and should bend once it’s glued in place just because the backing won’t stay put. The color chart doesn’t match the colors shipped, so that was a bit aggravating too as I really wanted to not have to guess which one to choose. The product pictured was not, IMO, an accurate depiction of what one ends up making because the colors and the foam backing do create the same effect. The project wasn’t hard and I might buy another kit, but it was disappointing that it’s impossible to make it look like the picture.

I am new to quilling but my first project came out very well. My disappointment in this kit was the pattern is on a foam board which came folded. So it took me several days to get it to lie flat and then I taped it down with masking tape. I am concerned if it bends again the paper will pop off. . Rather than just lines to follow there are channels. When you dip your paper in the glue, the paper is not stiff enough to slide into the channels so I am ending up just having the paper on top of the channels,. I’m also disappointed that the picture shown has coloring on the picture between the lines of the quilling paper but no instruction as to how the color was applied. I will post pic when finished.

I love the easy of gluing the strips in the grooves. Much easier then trying to hope the strip dry straight or did I use enough glue.

This project should be done after you have practiced making the different shapes in a beginner's project. Otherwise, you might find this to be difficult and get frustrated. I really enjoyed making this project. I will put it in a frame and give as a gift.

The cardboard edges were bent and there was no colour chart or instructions. A disgraceful product.
