No, this is not what you want for your big honk'n digital SLR with the huge telephoto lens. But for smaller SLRs or mirrorless cameras with reasonable sized lenses, I find this works fine -- easily locked into place with the convenient flipper style locks.

It won't hold the weight of a DLSR, at least not mine anyway (Canon EOS 77D with Tamron 18-400mm zoom), despite what the photos show. If you have a very light camera maybe this will work, but otherwise the hinges fold up. If they went with screws on the hinges with half the current pitch that would approximately double the tightening force, which would probably be enough. As is though, I can't use it.

Nothing more to say than, don't trust your camera on this thing. Not very precise and does not stay locked. Canon R5 with Rf 24-70mm 2.8 lens, it gave out and almost smacks the front of the lens on ballhead.

It’s works fine on medium and small lenses, but struggles to hold it on heavy ones
