This organizer is longer than the others I looked at and it's way more sturdy. I was able to stash quite a bit of yarn in the five large pockets and I love the individual zippers for each of the pockets instead of like other products that have just two, long side zippers across the whole organizer. I found with the one I returned that didn't have the individual pocket zippers like this one that the yarns would fall out when I tried to get one from the middle because you had to unzip across the length of the side. This is by far the best yarn organizer for over the door style I've seen. Would definitely buy again!

This "yarn" organizer ended up working fantastically for my needs. I didn't need it for yarn but I did need it for items I need for crafting -- right now it is storing all of our poly bags to protect the craft items when they are ready to ship. It has made it definitely more convenient to find the correct sized bag in its zippered section and just pull that out -- and without making a big mess with all of the bags anymore. It really helps me to keep them separated - big whew.I am in agreement with everyone else -- I am not sure of the purpose of the top shelf. There is no base and you cannot really use it to store anything. It doesn't have storage other than a small zippered pocket but it would have been awesome if they just made an extra section just like the others -- mostly because I needed another section. Even with that it still is a great organizer so I don't think it is enough to go down from 5 stars. I would actually probably get another one -- great alternative for storage.

I ordered this for my unborn babies closet, as it is currently filled to the brim with my overflow clothes and his big brother’s hand me downs. I needed some more space, and this makeshift shelf organizer I think will do the trick! I already have an over the door organizer on the closet door, so I hung this one with command hooks on the empty side wall of the closet! This will be the perfect organizer to store shoes, diapers, wipes, anything! I agree with the other reviews, I have NO idea why the top shelf didn’t come with a support to put in the bottom of it. I thought it was missing one at first, then realized the product just doesn’t come with one after reading the feedback of others. I posted a photo of what I am talking about, one photo shows that there is no support for for bottom of the top shelf, and I’m pointing at the support that the rest of the shelves have in the second photo. It’s kind of a useless shelf at the top since you won’t be able to properly balance anything on it since it sags, but other than that, this is a great and unique organizer for anyone who needs that extra shelf space in their rooms/closets!

I had a pocket organizer on the door, but it wasn't great since you couldn't see through the pockets. This organizer is exactly as pictured, and it's great! I started filling from the bottom with yard, but only had two of the compartments filled, so I will put my felting wool in a couple of them too. The top has a zip pocket that's great for storing knitting needles, rulers and other tools. I will end up putting some small size fabric in one of the compartments too, since that will be way more convenient than having it in a bin where you can't really see what you have. This organizer isn't standard door-width, so it would easily fit on a skinnier closet (or even a cupboard?) door. I can see why they didn't make it fully wide, since it could potentially get kind of heavy if it were filled. But, as I said, this size is ample for my yarns, wools and some fabrics. The pockets are really big enough for quite a lot of items that are a bit bulky but not heavy (towels?). I may end up ordering another if I find a storage need anywhere else in the house. I'm really happy with this item though, it's perfect for sewing/crafting supplies!!

I know this is sold as a "yarn organizer." I know I have definitely pushed it beyond its intended purpose. I'm sure I'll need to make a few adjustments to compensate. But look at this! I have most definitely overloaded it here (weight-wise), but it's holding up like a champ. Will it start to struggle under the weight? Probably, but that's on me. I'm sure I'll need to move some of the heavier items to the shelves, and fill these compartments with lighter things eventually, but I'm beyond impressed with how well this thing is taking my abuse! Seriously. For yarn? Oh, don't even hesitate. For maybe personal accessories like hats, scarves, belts, small handbags? Without a doubt. For hobby items that are fairly lightweight? Sure. For a combination of lightweight and medium-weight hobby or other items? Yeah. I'd try it. Why not? I sure wouldn't limit myself to yarn.I mean, let's be honest--I really got carried away here, but this thing is holding up. I wouldn't put pots and pans, canned goods or bags of flour, rice and sugar in here, but I could think of plenty of other things you could organize in this baby! I'll bet you can, too.

I debated on 3 or 4 stars for this, but I'm ending up with 3. This holds a lot of yarn. However, if you put anything in the very top (small) pocket you'd have to get a step ladder unless you're really tall. It's so high up it's really impractical for anything like hooks or anything like that. It goes together really easy. All you have to do is unfold it and put the bottom in. My biggest complaint is the smell. It has a weird smell...kind of like the smell when you open a package of treated jute rope from a hardware store...and it's so strong. I don't know what else to compare it to for anyone who doesn't know what that smells like...kind of like chemical and burlap? I'm going to have to air it out before I put anything in it.
