Claims to work with i link, it does not. Upon researching, I've found online that you cannot get sufficient data through when adapting firewire to usb.So if you intend to use this with an i link compatible Sony camcorder, look elsewhere

this misrepresents to work with sony devices. because I didn't know, I fell for it. this incompatible pairing will never work, and those that made it had to know. now I know

This is an excellently made firewire to usb cable. Exactly what I needed for my sony camera to connect to my pc. Works great!

Was hoping to transfer some mini-DV video tapes to computer, but this cable does not wok for this function.

Hard to find cable to connect an older HD camcorder to a newer computer. ieee1394 cables are very hard to get nowadays. If you have an older camcorder, get one while you still can.
