Made a mistake and assumed it was the exact size without measuring it, was better off using a drill and keeping the same oversize tolerance

Buyer beware! This is described as a 12.7mm (.4999") reamer. IT's NOT!After reaming a hole in 6061-T6 Aluminum that measured 0.5035" (using telescope type hole gages and a micrometer).I measured the reamer using a Mitutoyo digital micrometer and found the average cutting flute diameters to be 0.5015". For the record; The reaming process was done in a lathe at 150 RPM using Tap-Magic Aluminum cutting fluid. The hole was .015 undersize before reaming.A reamer is designed to yield a "round" hole exactly the size of the called out on the reamer, (BTW this reamer has no marking) that's why you use different tolerance reamers for "push, slip and press fits". Buyer be ware!as a side, the three other "verified" reviews for this item were for three different diameters NONE 12.7mm(1/2"). Not sure what "was" verified.

No preservative on the part or "sleeve" to protect it. Non-machined surfaces are corroded.

I checked it with a mic before using and found that depending on which flutes you measured it was .188 to .1885. This is an oversized reamer even though it says 3/16 in the shank. I guess you get the quality you pay for.

Not really good for accuracy

I would give it a .1 star rating if that was possible. No degree of sharpness. looks like it had been sharpened with a roughing end Mill. Returning it.
