In the metalworking field divider calipers are used in the process of marking out suitable workpieces. The points are sharpened so that they act as scriber, one leg can then be placed in the concave created by a center or prick punch and the other leg pivoted so that it scribes a line on the workpiece surface, thus forming an arc or circle.

I use this to mark my spaces on rings and other jewelry. They’re sturdy and just right from a size perspective and they don’t feel clumsy. They’re a great value for the price and seem to be durable so far.

I love the small size of this scribe because I craft very dainty jewelry and this works perfectly. I like that when I’m not using it I can retract the needle point ends to store in my tool roll and not have to worry about them poking thru. Very adjustable and stays in place you just can’t beat the price.“Peace “

This unit is very tiny, but that's exactly what I needed. Make sure this size will serve your needs - 4 inches is really small. It's great for precision jewelry and precision woodworking and model building. Well made and easily adjusted with one hand. Points are super sharp so be more careful than I was opening the box!

The two tips aren’t even aligned with each other, bigger problem is that the tips are flimsy and keep on moving I’ve had to tie the screw with pliers and even then they would still constantly move. The spring mechanism is also really flimsy. I get it’s a cheap tool but it’ll be more useful somewhere on a metal recycling plant

Not bad for about $8.00, but it fell apart (at some point) in shipping. If a scriber hadn't been missing I would have kept it. The manufacturer needs to do a better job tightening down the tiny nuts that hold in the scribers. The tool itself is compact and sturdy, for the price, so I would recomend it...just be prepared to send it back for a replacement if you get one that's missing parts.

I like the divider. Be careful with the knobs on the side because it will cause the needles to drop out. But, it marks up Silver really nice.

This is no Starrett or Deitzgen, but it's adequate for hobby use. Fit and finish are a bit rough, but it will serve, and it's cheap. I don't mind a little fiddling to improve it's setup.
