  • Material and Coating: Made of alloy tool steel, the reamers have high hardness and durability, not easy to wear and can be used for a long time. Features just the base substrate without any coatings, suitable for wide ranges of applications.
  • Wide Applications: Used for processing, handicraft processing, and bore machining. Can be used to repair drilled holes and improve hole accuracy. Suitable for accurate reaming in aluminum, cast iron, copper, plastic, wood, and other soft materials.
  • Easy to Use: Can be hand operated by use of wrenches. The blade is sharp and fine, and the cutting efficiency is high. Great for light cut, repair work, or simply for enlarging holes. Always keep reamers clean, and used with machine oil for long service use.

Information

Reamers are with one or more cutter teeth. Holes can be with exact size and shape after the reamers' processing. Finished product can be smooth, intact and more beautiful.

Reamers can be used to process holes in small cuts based on guiding function, such as: holes with diameter tolerance in ≤IT8; holes with requirements in surface roughness (≤Rz12 generally); holes with requirements in roundness tolerance; holes with requirements in cylindricity; stepped holes (different diameter holes on the same axis); series holes (diameter holes on the same axis) with requirements in high coaxality.

I needed to clean up a worn taper and this reamer did an excellent job. But if I had to create a new taper from scratch, I would invest in a more expensive taper pair.

This unit cannot cut even some minimal burs in a tailstock. My lathe had some minor burrs caused by the previous owner placing something inappropriate. I wanted something to remove the burr and smooth the MT2. Nope. it just slide over the metal leaving zero shavings. No metal at all.Waste of money.

I recut the taper in the drill press. Works great now. Simple and easy to use. Solved the problem with chuck falling out occasionally.

Not marked HS, and unknown finish. Just be aware, that for "new work", you really need a two piece set, which includes a rougher. I got it for making a storage carousel for 2MT live centers, out of softer material and also very shallow depth. It will be fine for my needs, or for "cleaning" 2MT on various machines. The shank is 17/32". Happy Trails!
