This is an effective and safe tool for removing pin or slot type retaining rings that are not deeply recessed. It is particularly good for stuck rings that need more torque than traditional "parallel-bar" type spanners can deliver.It is a good value as-is, but it would be helpful if the manufacturers would furnish the optional longer-reach tips with the kit as standard equipment; they are mentioned but don't seem to be offered outside Japan.Two further engineering suggestions:1. The clamp screws that affix the tips are very small and have tiny JIS (+) heads. Their thread engagement is also very short, just the thickness of the parent sheet metal. Both the heads and the female threads are thus on the verge of stripping out when one achieves adequate clamping pressure to restrain the tips. A larger screw and better female threads will make the tool much more robust.2. The knurled spreader locknuts bear on the handles at varying odd angles, and are thus hard to adjust finely and prone to accidental loosening. Simple washers would help; spherical alignment washers would be even better.

This is my second lens opener. Its handles like a professional! very stable and precision in alignment. And most important. It very easy to turn, Unlike the neweer model bend tip it you can easily slip and scratch the edges.

Barely goes wide enough for a 50mm objective and is hard to hold at that width. Steel points are not sharp enough and weak steel...already bending tips. Unfortunately, there aren't many options out there for lens work. The twin bar type aren't much better.

Excellent tool, should be much safer to use with lenses since the holder can not slip. However I have not yet used for its intended purpose. I modified it to install spring-loaded locking pins in an old Trioplan lens. I added a spring to keep constant tension, made my own tips, and replaced the Phillips head screws with 3mm socket head Allen screws. I recommend doing this regardless. They can be tightened more without stripping.

Works fine, the bits come out sometime and have be tightened again. But the tool works fine and I not sure if other bits can be found for this product.

After reading reviews of other style lens tools I’m glad to have purchased this one. Nice and solid plus easy to set up. This is a quality tool that should last a long time.

It was warped so much that one of the tips couldn't be mounted since the holes did not line up. Returned successfully and fully refunded with no hassle.

Wer an (alten) manuell zu fokussierenden Objektiven herumschraubt und breite Halteringe vor den Linsen lösen muss, gerät leicht in Schwierigkeiten. Ja, es gibt Spezialwerzeuge, die zwei 4-8cm auseinander liegende Kerben in einem Metallring gleichzeitig packen können, sogenannte Lensspanner. Es handelt sich dabei um miteinander verbundene „Schraubenzieher“ oft mit Stahlspitzen versehen. Diese stellen aber oft selbst ein Risiko dar, da sie sich leicht verstellen oder am Objekt abrutschen und unersetzliche Optiken leicht verkratzen können. Dieses Instrument, welches auf dem Prinzip eines Zirkels beruht, lässt sich sehr präzise auf den notwendigen Abstand einstellen und dann auch auch sicher und mit Kraft führen. Damit lassen sich auch sehr festsitzende Ringe relativ risikolos lösen.

レンズ交換式デジタル一眼レフを買ったのを機会に、マウントアダプターも購入し、ん十年前の銀塩一眼レフ用レンズを使おうとしたのですが、内2本に外部からは拭き取れない内部のレンズに曇りがあり、分解組み立てのため、これを購入しました。より安価なタイプもあったのですが、テコの原理を利用できそうなこちらを購入しました。最初は、針の方を使おうとしたのですが、直径が急に太くなっており、うまく行きませんでした。マイナスドライバーの方は、外周に合わせると、うまく行きました。バラしてしまえば、レンズの曇り自体は、FUJI FILM レンズクリーニングリキッド、無水アルコール、超極細繊維メガネふき ドライタイプを併用することで、比較的簡単に拭き取れました。作業には、吸盤オープナー、LENSSUCKERも併用しました。私個人は、オールドレンズを自力で再生でき大満足です。ただ、1本のレンズでは、分解組み立ての途中に、絞りリングのクリック感を生じさせている極めて小さな金属球を落としてしまいました。幸い、見つけることが出来たのですが、分解は、慎重の上にも慎重に観察して、トレイの上でされることをおすすめします。また、一度バラしてしまえば、レンズは、裏表どちらからでもハマります。事前に、ネットで断面図を検索して、印刷しておかれることも、おすすめします。リスクを伴う作業ですので、あくまでも自己責任で、レンズの価格や、修理に出した場合のコストを勘案したうえで、行うかどうかの判断してください。

オールドレンズ好きに！メンテナンスの必需品。力もかけやすくナメるのを防げます。ただし深いところには届きません。
