Wine and champagne should be served at a temperature that compliments its unique bouquet and flavor profile. The optimal temperature varies for different types of wine and champagne and is dependent upon factors including the grape variety that is used and the region from which the drink originates. The Vacu Vin Snap Thermometer allows users to easily establish the temperature of both wine and champagne without opening the bottle.
The flexible band is simply 'snapped' onto the outside of the bottle; it then displays the temperature in color on a black screen at the front of the device. The Snap Thermometer is designed so that it will locate onto any wine and champagne bottle, irrespective of its size and shape. It features an index of suggested serving temperatures for a variety of wines (Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon etc) and champagnes on its rear side.
The gadget is highly robust and will tolerate regular and prolonged usage. It can be easily cleaned with hot water and conventional detergents (if necessary). The Snap Thermometer is stylishly packaged and makes a perfect gift/present.

I own it for about two weeks now and use it for red and white wines.The thermometer is made of flexible material and wraps around the bottle. I can wrap it around the bottle of shampagne or porto, but not bigger.It measures the temperature in fahrenheit. It won't show the temperature lower than 40 F and higher than 72 F.It doesn't need any batteries to work, so the numbers are not glowing bright, but it's enough for me.Product looks exactly as pictured.Think it's a good product for reasonable price.

Snap it on. Get a quick temperature reading, probably within a couple of degrees. Leave it on to track the temperature as your bottle warms. Too warm, put it in the fridge for awhile. Not as accurate as an infrared thermometer, but close enough to keep your wine at about the temperature that you want. Worth the money if you like to keep your wine at a controlled temperature.

product is good for nothing, temperature is very inaccurate and hard to read. shows temp to be about 8 degrees warmer than actual bottle temperature

This also works quite well with craft beer. Of course there are more accurate methods to monitor temperatures of beer/wine but this is cheap and easy.

Takes forever to read and display the actual temperature. Also doesn't work at all if you put the bottle in the cooler. Doesn't work well on 1.5 L bottles. Pretty disappointing.

Aunque en la ilustración de la caja y en otras imágenes se muestra al termómetro en °C, al momento de sacarlo de la caja está en °F, es una lástima que no lo especifiquen. Fuera de eso, cumple con la función y es fácil de poner, de quitar y de limpiar, aunque tarda un poco en dar la lectura de la temperatura.
